hi 👋👋- 23 years of existence work makes me cry

You know technology literacy is dying because I saw this meme with 76k likes

F11 the full screen button? You’re scared of the full screen button? F10?? It opens the menu bar???

Computers are so scary what if I accidentally hit F12 in a steam game and it takes a screenshot. What if I press shift + F12 while in word and accidentally save my document 😖

If you had to learn what the F keys on your computer do through me reblogging this post, then I'm glad you did. Computer literacy is not a skill that gets taught anymore, and it is absolutely one that needs to be taught in order to be learned. Don't ever feel bad for not knowing something, but ☝️ don't ever stop learning learning about your environment, the tools you use, and especially the people around you

Never stop learning+ Never stop sharing what you learned

I genuinely hope Rian Johnson just keeps on making fun murder mysteries with a bunch of random celebrities forever.

I cannot believe there's absolutely no way to watch free shows and movies anymore, there are too many paid streaming platforms and pirating websites have viruses and ads preventing you from watching it uninterrupted((.)) id rather follow the rules and purchase media moving forward because it is too inconvenient. Seriously, free and no ads or viruses with 1080p streaming is DEAD.

Exactly! It's freaking annoying when I want to watch movies but I would have to subscribe to like 24 different services . Just to watch the shows that I like.

Oh and wouldn’t it be nice for cartoons? Just anything animated. I just wanna stream things without getting conned. Must I be cartoonless forever?

i like using streaming apps but there are waaaay too many and they're all stealing my data .i wish there was a secure and organized way to have millions of shows and movies available one one app. but alas. we've truly gone full circle back to cable + now it spies on you. its a real shame. i dont want to fill my device storage with tons of boring and stupid cash grabs.

These kink posts just keep getting more and more esoteric

Since it is Christmas Eve, I wanted to talk about what might be my favorite piece of art surrounding Christmas: Esther Strauß’s ‘Crowning’

If you’ve heard of Crowning, it is probably because of the massive controversy surrounding the sculpture. In 2023, Strauß sculpted Crowning for a contemporary art exhibition in St. Mary’s cathedral in Austria. The exhibition was intended to be “a venue for discussion of contemporary questions about women’s roles, family images and gender equality” in the Church, and so Strauß chose to create a truly human portrayal of Mary, the Mother of God. The title of the sculpture is a pun referencing both Jesus’ incarnation as the King of Kings on Earth and when a newborn baby’s head crowns during child birth.

The sculpture showed Mary in the last stages of childbirth— her beautiful, heavenly robes pool around her pregnant stomach as she spreads her legs, hands clutching at the ground below her, eyes turned up to the heavens as she prays for the pain to be over. She knows the joy of holding her baby is coming, but in this movement, the contractions are agonizing and all she wishes is for her God to hold her. Her eyes are filled with tears and devotion as she looks skyward, and her heaving breaths are a prayer.

Crowning was displayed for only a short time before being brutally vandalized because of its “abominable and blasphemous caricature”. A group of anonymous vandals decapitated Mary and stole the head, an action that was praised by many Austrian Christian communities.

Our Lady of Sorrows is an extremely popular depiction of Mary. Simeon says her heart will be pierced, and it is, brutally, as she watches the torture and execution of her Son. We know Jesus brought Mary pain— His life as her child was a glorious blessing to Mary, but it brought her agony. Is it too much to think that His birth may have done the same?

The best Merthur fan fictions (in my humble opinion)

I thought I would share my favorite Merthur fics here. I track all the fics I read (this year I've read 322 so far wohoo) and these are the best of the best the ones I will reread over and over and over and over.

That being said they are in no particular order and I plan on updating this, when I find new favs.

Gravity by BeautifulFiction

Hands down the best Hurt/Comfort fic I have ever read. It's not only stunningly written but the way Arthur and Merlin's relationship develops is so beautiful. Might be my favorite fic ever

Sorcerer's Bane by BeautifulFiction

This one is loooong and still I wish it was longer because I want to live in it. It has everything one could wish for and the author has created a true masterpiece with it amazing 15/10.
This is so precious. It's about Merlin and Arthur getting hit by the spell of some evil sorceress and when they wake up in the forest they are small children, with no memories of their adult lives. So we get to watch Arthur trying to protect Merlin. The scenes with the knights are so funny and ah I can't I love it. It's so soft and beautiful and I melt in a puddle of happy gay goo every time I read it
Arthur saving his fav warlock and taking care of him. Loved the drama and the softness. It's so well written and yes amazing, pleaaaase read if you have not

In My Mind by Lona11

Merlin gets hurt when they are in the woods and get attacked by bandits. So we get to see Arthur panicking and the knights all trying to get Merlin back to the castle. By now you should know that I'm a sucker for pining Arthur who fears for Merlin's life, I mean look at this list. I do love the knights here, working together because Merlin is their smol

A king's hands by feyver (itsnautica)

It's technically not a Merthur fic but Merlin is stressed and Arthur wants to help him. He's also pining and in love but in that moment it's more important to take care of Merlin and make sure he gets a break and that mends my broken heart

No Night So Dark by Cithara

Angst. So SO MUCH ANGST. I don't want to spoil anything for this please check the tags but if you can read it. Believe me it's worth it. It's so well paced so beautifully structured and the development of the characters is chef's kiss.
Merlin is turned into a kid and Arthur is trying to bring him home. But without his adult memories, Merlin is not sure if he can trust knights of Camelot to have his best interest in mind. I don't want to say any more but ah stunning. You really feel for Arthur in this one.
I reread it yesterday and had to add it. Merlin is a vet in this one and Arthur is a rich prat with a soft spot for horses. They are pining in this one. Both of them are so stupid and the love language is tea. However in between their idiocy there are little moments of them showing their feelings and WOW

The other day on stream after Ozzy suggested I draw Cas and Grian doing some cosy wing preening I realized how similar my Skizz and Cas designs are (you know, angels in suit and tie, dark hair, quiff, blue eyes) but then I kept thinking about it and I found MORE parallels between my two favourite things at the moment (GIGGS and Supernatural) [ID under the cut]

  • angel in suit and tie and their demon bf (i say half-joking)
  • british chaotic short kings
  • tech genius best friend
  • powerful redheads
  • long hair, lanky, many scars and puppy dog eyes you'd do anything for

Get yourself a fabric store that will light your fabric on fire for you

No but legit I asked what the fiber content of something was and the guy didn’t know so he cut a chunk off and lit it on fire and felt the ashes and was like. Yeah this is mostly cotton with a lil bit of silk. And that was the moment I knew. This is it. This is the fabric store for me. Also that guy is marriage material. Not for me but damn some person is gonna be so happy with him.

Ok but this is actually one of the easiest ways to tell what something is made of! I did a textiles degree and one day as part of a class we all went outside with a pile of scrap fabric and set fire to the little pieces and recorded how they burned. We were given a chart that looked something like this to tell what each fabric was (it gets a little tricky is it's a mix of fabrics though). Why did we do this? There is very little regulation in the textiles industry so a lot of materials are mislabelled as something they aren't and sold for more than they should be, also sometimes people buy fabric second hand or discounted which doesn't have any label at all. If you have a fabric you are having doubts about, cut a tiny piece off and do the burn test and you should know pretty fast what you are dealing with. Anyways your fabric store should be lighting things on fire because this means that they are actually checking what the fabrics are and aren't trying to pass cheap stuff off as more expensive than it is.

Ooh! I knew it was a standard test but I hadn’t seen a chart as detailed as this thank you!
