One last art post to round off 2025, with one of my favorite pieces I drew this year! This artwork was drawn for Two Girl Revolution, an RGU zine focused on Utena and Anthy’s relationship! All the contributors’ art and writing were so lovely and the zine came out absolutely gorgeous; I’m so happy I got to participate. ^_^

(Spoilers for Revolutionary Girl Utena!)

I thought of this as being sort of an illustration of Anthy inside the coffin throughout the series - her childhood self surrounded and almost smothered by the Rose Bride gown, the swords keeping her trapped in place, her expression blank and bitterly exhausted but her hand still holding the sword of Utena’s heart. And of course, Utena herself reaching for her in a flash of light!
