«At the Internet Archive, this is how we digitize a book. We never destroy a book by cutting off its binding. Instead, we digitize it the hard way—one page at a time. We use the Scribe, a book scanner our engineers invented, along with the software that it runs. Our scanning centers are located in universities and libraries around the world, from Boston Public Library to the University of Toronto to the Wellcome Library and beyond. Eliza is one of our fastest and most accurate scanners. Next she will execute quality control checks and fix any errors. Then she ships the book back to our Physical Archive for long-term preservation. Now imagine this: scanners like Eliza have done this 2,000,000 times. That’s what it takes to provide you with a free digital library.» – Plus Internet Archive’s Modern Book Collection Now Tops 2 Million Volumes, by Chris Freeland, February 3, 2021

Since you read that, the internet archive does so much more than just preserving knowledge, it’s one of those places that has helped me a lot. If you think what they’re doing is neat and are passionate about preserving all human information please donate to the Internet Archive:

They are hosting 70 petabytes of data and counting. All accessible to the public at no cost. Help keep it that way!

Primary colors illustration for Monty on Kofi

Request: "I would like a drawing of my chihuahua character Primario. Draw it however feels right"

shout out to Primario for providing the color palette I used for a bunch of these lol

one of my coworkers has a sign up that usually says “SEE THE GOOD” but earlier this week the “GOOD” fell off and the spacing is really weird so every day when i get off the elevator i run into this sign that looks like it just says “SEETHE” and it’s like. yeah man. we’re at work. i WILL seethe, thanks.

In general I don't like the ageism of the whole "Everyone is 12" take, but the part that particularly bugs me is attributing adults wanting to be farmers on "being 12." Because, you see, farming is one of the most egregious industries for use and abuse of child labor. There are actually a lot of 12 year olds working on farms, and those 12 year olds absolutely know better than to think farm labor is a relaxing, fulfilling, romantic, "simple and close to nature" lifestyle.

Adults don't romanticize farming because they're childish; they romanticize farming because they're privileged enough to never have had to work 16 hours a day outside. Children who don't have that privilege know better.

happy new year! here's some outfit explorations for Fionna, Fennel, Gary, and Marshall in season 2. my eternal gratitude to the design team for making the final character designs + colors look so beautiful!

Humans will say "I guess I could have pizza tonight but I had pizza on Thursday and I don't really want pizza twice in the same week" and dogs will say "Oh boy the exact same gub I've been fed for every meal of my entire life homf homhf chomfhh homhomhomhomhomh"

The most terrifying person I’ve ever encountered at the gym is this middle aged man who consistently shows up wearing flip flops. He will run full sprint on the treadmill and do his entire strength workout in flip flops. Today I saw him doing yoga in flip flops. He also never wears headphones or listens to music, he’s just rawdogging these cursed workouts

This has gotta be one of the funniest things I've ever seen. 😂😂😂

Remember to eat, my loves! There's a whole world of delicious joy awaiting you!

They way I'd be reaching the chopsticks over for a lil bite 😂

love when a character is a scientist and their speciality is science and they do science in a science lab. no specifics no clear goals no clue where their funding comes from. dont even worry about it. science.
