also facades and false identities are so fun . many such variations.

someone accidentally slipping further into a facade than they intended . someone purposefully retreating further into a facade . someone accidentally dropping their normally impeccable facade for a moment . someone purposefully letting their facade down as a taunt or mockery or in a genuine way because they're finally in a situation where they don't need the facade anymore . someone whose facade really is just a tool that they have complete control over and it never falters or fails . someone whose facade is the opposite and they're having a really bad time trying to maintain their facade or trying to maintain their true self under the facade . many such good options. all fun.

i love you facades and false identities and presentations of the self and separation of aspects of the self and

some thoughts on the finale kiss

I discussed the finale kiss a little on my ranking of every george michael and maeby kiss, but here are a few things I love about it:

  1. it’s the most public of all their kisses since their very first kiss on the yacht in the pilot. it really bookends the show nicely: beginning and ending what we see of their relationship with a kiss at a bluth gathering. (obviously the season 3 finale works arguably even better as a bookend, and I will probably discuss that soon, but given that season 4 and 5 are kind of a mess, this moment ties it all up pretty nicely.) I really like that now, after years of furtive moments and feelings that they wouldn't even always admit to themselves, they have enough confidence not to care what anyone thinks.
  2. obviously this kiss is in the background. I could be frustrated about that (come on, let’s get a big romantic kiss for the finale!), but I’m not, for two reasons. the first reason is that it’s simply funny. but the other reason is that it makes the kiss casual in a way that has never happened before. I (somewhat reluctantly) believe that during the course of the show, they have no offscreen kisses, just the big important ones that we see. but if they have a background kiss, that means that in the future, each individual kiss between them is less important, since there are more to come. no, this is NOT their last kiss! they can and will and DO end up together, just after the finale, (trust me it's true!!!) and no, unfortunately we don’t get to see it, but the finale background kiss, in my mind, really heavily implies that there is more in store for my otp.
  3. it's so delightfully silly. I really, really love to think of their growing more openly and sincerely weird and silly with each other in a healthy way, in their post-canon established relationship (which is REAL). I mean, just look at them. freaks. I love you, weirdos <3

For good. 🌷✨️

Fiyero who?

I loved wicked for good, and the development of this friendship and of Glinda as a person. But I especially loved Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and how she grew.
