Think about this outfit in the context of the story. This is Lelouch’s best friend, his ideological opponent, a man who has betrayed him to rise the ranks. And when he finally persuades Suzaku to his side, this is the first thing he does to him.
I know the piloting suits are form fitting, but mesh shoulders? Thigh-high boots?
If you want to make the argument that Suzaku choose this outfit. Why is he showing off? This isn’t just any outfit. This is his knight uniform while he serves Lelouch during his imperial reign.
These two are in the middle of conquering the world, and Suzaku is walking around like this.
you know various characters mention a few times at various points in Code Geass that Suzaku and Lelouch can do anything so long as they’re working together- and, eh, you probably write it off as just a notion of how well they work together and trust each other but then they actually do legit start working together and in just a few months they conquer literally the entire world and then achieve world peace while basically destroying Brittania from within
