Piping hot take: I don't give a shit if straight actors play queer characters as long as they do so with empathy and authenticity. When you say shit like "only queer actors should play queer characters" what you're actually saying is only OUT queer actors should play queer characters. If you're assuming an actor (or anyone else, for that matter) who hasn't declared their sexuality is straight, you are participating in heteronormativity.

Okkotsu Yuta is such a funny character cause you're initially introduced to him as 'super powerful upperclassman studying overseas' and you go 'ah yes, I recognize this trope- this is a Secret Tool that will help us later, he will return an opportune moment when things look most dire to aid Our Heroes' but then you watch his prequel movie and realize it's all about him ending his toxic comp het relationship with his childhood best friend('s ghost) and getting what amounts to a magical divorce and then you realize he is a giant loser (affectionate) and actually he's not overseas training, he's off doing some 'eat pray love' white girl shit and trying to Find Himself post divorce, and you think "well good for him"-

AND THEN when he finally shows up in the story proper he's back in the EXACT SAME TOXIC COMPHET MARRIAGE he spent his prequel getting out of, because it turns out said marriage was the source of his Terrible Cosmic Powers and not only is he not here to help Our Heroes, he's gunning for the Main Protagonist specifically because said protagonist (accidentally) cut off his side piece boyfriend's arm and so he Must Die, and no it turns out that Yuta did not in fact learn anything from the events of the prequel about his attachment issues, co dependency, and letting go, and he fully intends to weaponize his toxic marriage to avenge his boyfriend in a conflict that could maybe level all Tokyo but who cares about that? A bad thing happened to Someone He Loved and it's Overreaction Time Baby.

Anyways, Okkotsu Yuta is a loser (overwhelmingly affectionate) and I support him 100%.

i hate the way people talk about plastic surgery. yeah it's a bad thing that a woman of color feels the need to get surgery to change her body to fit into european standards of beauty, but the problem here isn't the surgery, it's the racism that made that woman feel the need to get the plastic surgery. the problem isn't the existence of plastic surgery it's the racism and misogyny that force women into pursuing it

posting 2016: you ever think about how in ten years we'll still be gay and online together

posting 2026: imagine, if you will, making a necklace from the bones in your hand. feeling them slowly become mundane, like stones, as time renders them unfamiliar to you. thought exercise now concludes

whenever people talk about being "too old" to do anything i think about the access to higher education course i did before university- where i was by far the youngest person in my class, because 90% of my classmates were mothers who were going back to school now that their kids had grown up and moved out. if youve ever wondered "why would anyone wait until their 50s to start a new life path?" there could be a lot of reasons but a common one is "because they had kids straight out of highschool and didnt have time to think about it until now." and i think that should be normal even if you dont plan on having kids. fuck it. life is an ever changing river. grab a paddle yo.

omgomgomg my professor is a twitch streamer. i thought that only happened in tumblr posts wtf!!!

Anonymous asked:

aro culture is playing Stardew Valley, marrying someone, and then getting grossed out when they say/do something romantic. Like yes Sebastian I know we've been married for 4 years and have 2 children but can you not??

oh god what a mood, but if you don't mind modding and older game versions, I do remember an aro/ace-spec friendly mod that allowed a lot of romo/sexual/relationship term freedom... ah, I found it! I don't know how it is with the latest versions, but it exists:

and for added gender considerations, an apparently compatible mod:
