Day 19 of FS Winter's Delight lets go!!!! Every now and again i reread the manga and get reminded of just how silly they all are despite being heroes. I love their interactions so much.

had to drive a lot today so i'm gonna be cringe on main and tackle the most important of headcanons:

modern AU, as the links get older, what kind of drivers are they :3

Green:

Green is a fairly middle of the road driver. He doesn't mind being behind the wheel, and he drives fairly safely. He's always keeping himself busy though- adjusting the volume of the radio, the seat, the mirrors, the heat/AC, etc... he also always has some sort of stop or errand to make on the way to their destination. between that and his distractability, he often misses turns and is typically a few minutes late to everything

his car is a few years old but in good condition, he has a couple knickknacks and bumper stickers that were gifts, the car's pretty clean

Blue:

He's a pretty good driver but he goes way too fast on the highway and blasts his music. he'll get road rage and yell at other drivers but never starts driving recklessly in response to others' actions. He enjoys driving

blue's car is the newest of the bunch and blue maintains it himself. it's pretty messy inside, you definitely have to move some wrappers and receipts aside to find your seat. however he also has everything you would want: blankets, snacks, meds in the glove compartment, etc. he claims he uses them himself but he keeps all that stuff in there for the sake of the others

Red:

red is the definitely the best driver of them all. He makes sure everything is right before he starts driving, and doesn't drive distracted. nobody likes his taste in music but he ignores their teasing. on long road trips the others often fall asleep while he drives because he drives so smoothly.

his car is very clean and neat, but he has a bunch of plushies by the back window

Vio:

vio doesn't like driving. he's gone down the rabbit hole of videos of accidents and crazy drivers too much and made himself paranoid. driving himself around locally isn't too bad, gotta get to the library after all, but he prefers not to drive others. when he's a passenger, he reads in the car til he gets carsick.

his car is on the older side and not in the greatest of shape, it's not really that messy but kinda dusty and needs a vacuum, gets him from point a to point b though. backseat is usually cluttered with books and notebooks

Shadow:

keeps failing his driver's test

hey, you! four swords fan!

i need your help!

as we all know, the manga ends with the links recombining, and that's just no fun. so i'm writing a fic that kind of bridges the gap between the manga and all of our post-canon shenanigans. but i'm getting stuck on what may very well be an unimportant detail:

What exactly is the difference between "Link" and "Green Link"?

As I reread the manga, I've noticed that despite being presented as an equal part of Link's original personality like the other three, Green behaves almost identically to the original Link. The manga even lampshades this with Green outright claiming to be the original, much to Blue's chagrin. (And of course the "outtakes" aren't canon, but the one where Link's putting the Four Sword back REALLY drives this idea home, with Green being nervous that they're not recombining while the others are very happy about it and being able to continue existing).

This is important, because it raises questions about how the Four Sword works. Is Green just one of four facets of Link, with his own personality, and if so, what differentiates him from the original? Or, somewhat contrary to how the manga presents it, does the Four Sword moreso make copies of the original, just with different personalities?

i want EVERYONE to share their opinions with me and, if possible, reblog to reach a wider audience! even a few would help!

(and if someone has a direct canonical answer that i've missed, that'd be super helpful heh...)
