The two are separated by Smith and Brown, and in a token of his debt, Holder presents Smith with the Jack of Diamonds. As a policeman escorts the Judge home, the other men in the bar scramble to obtain a jack should they ever need it. The next day, the Judge remembers giving away the card, but cannot remember to whom he gave it. He catches his daughter, Bess, kissing Jack Drake. Holder refuses to allow their engagement, but changes his mind when Jack flashes a card. Written by scsu1975 See less
