It covers a crucial period in the history of independent Tunisia: the surge of nation-building. The post-independence state is analyzed through its staged portrayals, primarily centered on President Bourguiba. The research aims to deconstruct the work undertaken by newsreels in mediatizing the spectacle of power, to determine the extent to which they induced a shift in the perception of power and a kind of "derealization." The analytical component is based on a documentary film entitled "Monodrama of Independence," which forms an integral part of the thesis. Written by
