Went to the gym today and it was PACKED. I guess a lot of people have the day off. The machines were all busy, so I wound up pushing the sledge the whole time. Surprisingly, no else was eager to do so, and I had it all to myself. I'm gonna go lie down now.

Got another MTG convention looming next weekend: (SCG/Portland) We plan to hit Powell's World of Books, if only so we can go "For fuck's sake, we already have a thousand books we haven't read at home." It's a tradition!

And here I thought we were the only comic artists that dabbled in doing art for Magic the Gathering. But this last weekend I met Andrea Radeck, who does the delightful comic 'Caelum Sky', which I can highly recommend.

Somehow, I have gone my entire life without knowing that it is "traditional" to take down the Xmas decorations at the end of Twelfth Night, which is Jan 6. I can embrace this, if only so our tree isn't still up in March.

And that's a wrap for 2025! Whew! So I look back over the year and think; what do you want? A medal? Time waits for no one, pal, get back to work.

I don't know anyone who cannot wait for this year to be done. However the problems that plague us are systematic, and will not vanish between the ticks of the clock–or the calendar. That said, I'll be whoopin' it up whole-heartedly, and hope y'all will too.

Hope everyone had a good holiday. We are now formulating what we hope to get done in 2026– both story-wise and regarding the business. It's going to be a busy year and no mistake. Lot's of cons and (with luck) lots of new books.

There are 3 days of the year when I do not "work". Christmas Day is one of them. I gotta say, I'm enjoying myself so much, I just might make it 4 days next year!

Almost every culture has a year-end Festival of Lights analog. We participate in the one known as Christmas, and hope that whichever one you celebrate (if indeed you do) is happy & healthy and that next year is better. (A low bar, I know, but I'll take it.)
