DreamWorks' The Prince of Egypt: We consulted with historians and religious scholars from multiple cultures to ensure the events of this film are depicted with sensitivity and respect.

Also DreamWorks' The Prince of Egypt: We made up a couple of minor villains with no scriptural basis and gave them the film's entire racism quota. They're gay also.

I take umbrage with the claim that the gay racist priests have no scriptural basis, actually. They technically are based on Exodus 7:10-12.

Well, yes, Exodus does give us “some unknown number of unnamed priests try and fail to replicate Moses’ feats”, but I’m pretty okay with asserting that going from that to “a flamboyantly gay buddy comedy duo who are clearly running a con on the Pharaoh attempt to bamboozle Moses with anachronistic Las Vegas stage magic” takes us well beyond the remit of reasonable extrapolation and into the realm of pure invention.
