Does anyone else have some difficulty getting into enemies/rivals to lovers stuff because you end up projecting yourself on the "normaller" or "more chill" of the two and end up getting pissed off FOR said character when their love interest pulls some stupid shit because you have an overwhelming need for control in a situation, respond to confrontation with anger, and have a fear of humiliation
No? Just me?
. . . Ok

Me, who has never heard of danmei or the xianxia genre before: hey what's that book you're talking about?
My friend: its called TGCF! You should read it
Me: nah, im not too into martial arts themed stories. Maybe some day
A while later
Me: I guess the fanart for the main couple is cute. I wonder what other books this author has
Present me
Me, reading 3 danmeis at one time and trying to write my own: god dammit
I like to think another reason why Rudo regretted beating Amo, besides Enjin giving him a cool down talk, is because he saw himself in her
Back on the Sphere, Rudo would act aggressively when he thought he was being threatened, and because of that response, people's treatment of him would become more aggressive as well. The same is with Amo: she thought she was being used and threatened so she lashed out, and therefore warranted the others to lash out in response
Rudo didn't want to perpetuate that cycle which i love him for
I just had a dream there was a new friendlocke season in a new game that wasn't Z-A but something entirely different and what i remember is
• Gerber was a Thievul doing a French accent
• Brady was a wishiwashi
• Mal was an Eternatus who, after being caught, turned into a light green Tinkaton with a little crocheted hat
A relationship dynamic that always makes me sad is "person A is an amazing person who is/was incredibly devoted to person B and overlooks their flaws and past despite them being a bad person, but not because they're idealizing them, but because they physically can't cope with the person that B is now" x "person B who could care less about them, and typically only interacts with person A because they know that A will let them get away with anything"
Wanting to get physical copies of danmei sucks because I'll be about to put one on my wishlist for Christmas time until I get a vision of the future of my mother asking me what this book is about and I'll have to be like "this book? You mean this book mother? Oh ya its about this guy who gets transmigrated into the body of a fish and becomes a prince's pet, he also gets pregnant by said prince"
I can't go through that
