Rafayel's clothes in the Anecdotes mimics the colors of fire and I think the temperature of the fire color and Rafayel's personality in the anecdote matches in their intensity.

First off, the Red fire, this is the gentlest/coldest flame temperature out of all them, it matches well with the way Addictive Pain is the time where Rafayel is so close to MC, his previous aloofness to the world is basically melting apart in this anecdote. He is excited and anxious at the certainty he will meet MC again and she will reignite his love (which is also his pain that he'll always pursue). Its a gentle flame bcs even though this burns him its something that he'll reach out to more than anything else (like how the red color has the longest wavelength in visible light/flame). Its also an accurate representation of Rafayel's love, its intense like how red is a striking color but its gentle.

Second, Painter Rafayel is associated with White/Yellow Fire, Its not the most intense but its also not gentle, which is accurate to Rafayel's demeanor with dealing with the public/strangers. He's very dismissive towards them, often focusing on his own agenda no matter how demanding they get. His introvertedness can be summarized with one thing: he just doesn't have any intense feelings about how others view him just like this temperature of fire where its not the hottest but not the gentlest, he's just neutral/doesn't care.

Lastly, the Blue Fire is associated with Phantom of the Siren Rafayel. Even though blue is a cold color its actually the color of fire with the hottest temperature. Its accurate to how cold and distant Rafayel was at this anecdote in the surface but behind closed doors, it reveals that he was actually drowning in his guilt and pressure to avenge for Lemuria. This anecdote was very honest that Rafayel was hurting himself by just letting his hatred burn him up without any anchor

Additionally, a blue fire is a "complete combustion" meaning the fuel and oxygen are in sync and achieving maximum energy with minimal byproducts. It matched well wit how Rafayel's powers as the Sea God is always associated with blue fire and Sea God is the complete form of Rafayel without any weaknesses.

no because…I don’t play about my man. and my biggest pet peeve is when people complain about Rafayel and say he’s “not worthy of being a LI” because he’s supposedly bratty (true honestly), annoying and childish — as if he hasn’t earned the right?

if you’ve watched any of his myths, you know that the Rafayel in this life is vastly different from his God of the Tides, Sea God, and Abysswalker personalities. in those incarnations, he’s a lot more solemn and guarded. he has a playful, mischievous side, yes, but it’s buried beneath layers of dutiful sobriety. he’s so weighed down by all of his responsibilities to Lemuria and his seemingly irreversible fate with mc that he doesn’t even allow himself to be carefree. to have much real fun.

so GOD FORBID in this lifetime he gets a chance to be fucking silly and express himself the way he never felt he could before. he lives in a world of people who don’t understand him because he’s literally another species — and many of them want to exploit or hurt him — yet rafayel is able to laugh. he’s unafraid to be himself, now (at least around mc. and even sadder that she’s one of very few people too).

and you know what? if I had the weight of trying to restore and caring for an entire civilization (he just saved a lemurian child from a trafficking ring in the last banner!) on my shoulders alongside an ancient prophecy, scrutiny from the public eye, and a dangerous organization after me, I’d be a much bigger bitch than him. be so real with me right now.

this fish is so chronically misunderstood. I feel we’ve lost the plot.

anyway rant over I’m gonna go write and watch raf drive his sports car for the tenth time today ✌🏻

never heard more true words spoken than this.
