I don’t know if anyone has proposed this theory, but we know that the prisoners all seem to have had a near-death experience, as shown by Haruka and Yuno’s documents(Assuming this formula continues with the other prisoners). Maybe the prisoners who died in Milgram died in their “real” life since Yuno’s save data continued after her accident, and Haruka’s ended after strangling “the second child”. Side note, I think the theme of the prisoners trying to end their own lives may be a running theme in the other prisoners’ backstories. Maybe the ‘murder’ they are on trial for is for their own death.
