Exhaustion. Anger. Heartbreak. And, yes, fear. But so much love. So much joy. So much laughter, even in such a scary time.

When I arrived at Powderhorn Park earlier today, the first thing I noticed was the sheer number of people pouring into the park from every direction.

The second thing I noticed was the voices and the chanting that was already happening at the other end of the park from the top of the hill.

The third was the method of…transport? For so many people who were arriving. You see, it’s Minneapolis. It’s Minnesota, in the winter, after multiple weeks of freezing rain and snow, melting ice banks and re-freezing puddles. So the hill was, ironically, covered in ice.

And they were sliding.

Dozens of people were sliding down the hill on their way to the protest today in honor of Renee Nicole Good. Even in the wake of so much rage and righteous anger, there was a moment for joy.

From the top of the hill in the distance, the cheers could be heard, “Say it loud, say it clear, immigrants are welcome here! Say it once, say it twice, we will not put up with ICE!”

And from the bottom of the hill behind us, we could hear laughter.

This is Minnesota. This is Minneapolis. We are love. We are laughter. We are community.

We are Good.

You know I hadn’t made this exact connection at first but something in my gut told me that people comparing ice to the gestapo didn’t quite feel right. This comparison does fit a lot better.

Exactly what I was gunna say, all the comparisons of this administration to Nazism has been striking me as Not Quite Right since the beginning. Something about it all has been giving me a bad gut feeling that couldn’t be addressed by all the comparisons to Nazi Germany. It’s been a gut feeling I’m sure has been passed down through the centuries by my native ancestors.

And I can see where they are coming from with the nazi comparisons, the playbook seems to be unchanged thus far, but thats just fascism. This administration with its talking points and actions are lacking the fundamental element that makes Nazis, Nazis. And thats the unashamed, unrelenting and overwhelming antisemitism. We aren’t seeing them blame all our problems and everything they view as a problem on jews, they’re blaming it on black and brown people; they’re blaming it on immigrants and political enemies instead of Jews and Judaism. To the point where they are trying to deport indigenous Americans off our own reservations. Thats a hate we’ve had here since Europe decided the Americas were for the taking.

This administration and its actions are MUCH closer to the violence and hatred that allowed this country to be built off of the backs of slaves and the deaths of indigenous peoples. This is a much closer and more familiar, and that’s because it’s our very own hatred that’s been festering in the background ever since we failed to properly punish the confederates. This feels like the hate that brought about the Nazis because it’s the hate that’s inspired them.

Theres a difference here, even if it all feels similar. We have to treat it like the home grown fascism it is and stop using comparisons to Nazi Germany so heavily to sum up what’s happening here, because there are some very key differences.

I love this blog so much for basically being an enormous library of interior background references but MAN. 1) Search for: watch TITLE OF WORK free online

2) Scroll to the bottom of results. Click any of the "Complaint" links

3) You will be taken to a long list of links that were removed for copyright infringement. Use the 'find' function to search for the name of the show/movie you were originally searching for. You will get something like this (specifics removed because if you love an illegal streaming site you don't post its url on social media)

4) each of these links is to a website where you can stream shit for free. go to the individual websites and search for your show/movie. you might have to copy-paste a few before you find exactly what you're looking, but the whole process only takes a minute. the speed/quality is usually the same as on netflix/whatever, and they even have subtitles! (make sure to use an adblocker though, these sites are funded by annoying popups)

In conclusion, if you do this often enough you will start recognizing the most dependable websites, and you can just bookmark those instead. (note: this is completely separate from torrenting, which is also a beautiful thing but requires different software and a vpn)

In case people don't realize the full extent of what's going on, we are under siege in Minnesota. I live in an affluent, majority white suburb of Minneapolis, and ICE is all over the place terrorizing people. They showed up at the library, kitted out in their Temu tactical gear, and stormed it.

They've pulled weapons on legal observers and physically attacked them. They're threatening teenagers and children with death. One woman told a story at my, again, affluent, majority white suburban town's city council meeting this week of being shoved from behind so hard that she fell down by an ICE agent, who then said to her, "Stop touching me." A man, in tears and begging for our city government to do something to help our neighbors, described having a baton pulled on him. They're luring people out of their workplaces with lies about "hitting someone's car in the parking lot" and then abducting them. Citizens and legal residents are being detained. People are being racially profiled and snatched. A teenager (a US citizen) working at Target got dragged out and shoved in a car, then dumped a mile away in a Wal-mart parking lot, beaten up and crying. And all of this is after they murdered Renee Good.

I don't emphasize the demographics of my particular suburb to say "but this shouldn't be happening here, we have money!" but to illustrate that the Trump administration has declared war on a US state. Even if you stick your head in the sand because you're white and won't be directly targeted, ICE is running traffic lights, speeding, tearing the wrong way on one way streets, and causing nasty accidents because they think they're above the law. They think it doesn't matter who they hurt or kill, because they're being told straight from the top that they can do whatever they want to whoever they want.

We are all under attack, and this is coming to a city near you if we don't stand up to it. Please stand with Minnesota, as well as LA, Portland, Chicago, and every other place DHS has sent their COD cosplay gestapo. I don't know what that looks like for you but please, please, don't ignore this.

The bad driving is a form of terrorism. They want to cause accidents so they can blame it on the victims, and potentially cause more unrest. It really is just random acts against anyone in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I'm sorry but the cause and effect in this are completely backwards. The word "slop" is derived from Middle English "sloppes" (ca 1440) and has been around several hundret years before the invention of fast food and also several hundret years before the first known usage of the word "goyim" (1841). The word "slop" does not originate from a recent conspiracy term, it is obviously the fact that this recent conspiracy term has utelized the preexisting word "slop". By the logic that "slop" is antisemitic, because it alledgedly is derived from the term "goyslop", the word "goyim" would also be antisemitic, which it clearly is not.

There is also nothing in this article that points to the idea that the term "slop" in general is antisemitic or even objectionable. The article only talks about the compound term "goyslop" and the conspiracy it references and makes no remark on the term "slop" whatsoever.

We should definitely make sure to not propagate or normalize hatespeak by accident, but we should do that by confirming where the words we use come from and not based on vibes.

Ever since reading my first time loop-based book as a preteen, I’ve had a Secret Time Loop Code Word. It’s been the same word all these years. I’ve never written it down anywhere or told anyone what it is, just kept it tucked away in my brain. That way, if someone I know ever confided in me that they were stuck in a time loop, I would have a way to confirm it: I would tell them the time loop code word and instruct them to find and talk to me again on the next loop. Of course, if it’s a time loop, I wouldn’t remember telling them the code word. But they’d remember it. So if someone ever came to me and said “I’m stuck in a time loop, and the time loop code word is [X],” and it was indeed the word I’ve secretly held onto for most of my life, I would know that we had had this conversation in a previous loop and that they were telling the truth.

Will this ever be useful? Almost certainly not. But hey, there’s nothing wrong with having a completely absurd contingency plan. In case of time loops.
