as a white person, i really think that discussions like these are important. i want to know what i can do to stop racism, so thank you so much op and everyone who reads this for taking the responsibility of analysing my own actions away from me! im really not in control of my own actions, especially if theyre racist, so i need nonwhite people to watch out for me instead. i feel so bad about being white that i don't even know what i can do, so im just gonna keep adding nothing to the conversation by complaining about how all of us white people are just awful. this conversation is about me!

A large caution tape blinkie that reads: OP ISNT WHITE (SATIRE) in all caps.ALT

as a white person i could never imagine any of these things happening to me ... this is so scary and weird i cant believe it, isnt it just absurd that someone could hurt you or deny you healthcare or deny you food or insult you or attack you or make assumptions based on your skin color. oh my god thats awful i cant believe this is real! i feel so bad because i used to do stuff like this... i could never deal with that ever, i cant even imagine it. thats so terrible and im white by the way. im white. as a white person i think i should weigh in because i definitely have something new to say that is super important, it's about how bad i feel being white. im white and i think this is bad too! ugh white ppl can WE not do this. hey white people LET'S all shut up! this is not a good look for US! everyone look how good im doing at curing racism! look at how much im helping! hey this conversation is about me right, i need to speak when its not about me

i truly think that this recent trend of “if you relate to a post about a different identity than your own you are ~derailing~ and taking over the conversation” is incredibly harmful.

i recently experienced some pretty severe transphobic abuse in my workplace (children’s home) that included having food thrown at me, being called slurs, being told i was a pervert because i am trans. one of the managers talked with me afterwards and shared that he had had a similar experience as an Asian man. this wasn’t him derailing my experience, or talking over me, or making things about himself. he was communicating “hey, i know how it feels and how much it sucks. you’re not alone.”

THAT is what solidarity IS. i don’t know what it’s like to be Asian, he doesnt know what it’s like to be trans, but we both had a similar experience and we were able to turn a horrible experience into an opportunity for bonding and comfort.

stop looking at people’s attempts as solidarity as an attack. and hey, you never know - you could find an opportunity to grow closer to other people.

Swap AU bullshit so I can ship Danse and Hancock in more flavors… Danse’s sheet is a wall of text because I had to explain wtf is going on with the brotherhood for him to make any sense. Also shout out @mr-milo05 for bringing up the idea of Gunner Hancock, or, I guess he’s just John now lol
