The Art of Elise Moore She/They | Black | Sapphic | 22 | Schizoaffective Disorder + Autism

New Intro Post!

Hi! I'm Elise Moore, also known as Raven Foxx. I am a multimedia artist from Detroit creating work inspired by history, religion, and mental illness, featuring animal vessels. My art encompasses genres such as fantasy, anthropomorphism, and paleoart.

I am diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder (depressive type) and autism, and these conditions are a huge component in my artwork.

I utilize many different media in my work, such as:

  • Digital software (Krita, Rebelle, Blender, OpenToonz)
  • Oils
  • Watercolour
  • Gouache
  • Oil pastels

I love exploring different methods for creating art!

Follow me if you're interested in joining me on my artistic journey. You won't regret it!

Good Morning and a Happy New Year. How long have you been painting for now ?

Hello, Happy New Year!

I have been painting digitally since 2015, and traditionally technically since grade school (we used wet-in-wet watercolour). I didn't pick up oil painting until 2019, gouache until maybe 2020, and oil pastels I started using in 2024.

Art vs. The Artist 2025!

This year was very fun for me!

I started using Rebelle more, taught myself to use oil pastels, and experimented with painting alla prima in oils.

I was also able to do more worldbuilding work, such as a 3D render of my original species.

2025 was a big year for my traditional art, such as only creating physical pieces for Art Fight.

I also made quite a bit of paleoart over the course of the year, including my most popular post so far of a Brontosaurus.

I'm excited for what's to come next year!!

Three-dimensional Droxen concept/visualization.

I created this Droxen (original species) bust a few weeks ago in Blender.

Droxen are vulpine-reptilian creatures with physical characteristics such as outturned ears, beards, and long flowing hair, which are all shown in these renders.

I rendered a couple of different images with different lighting situations. Here are my favourites so far. I might render another image later on. I will post some WIP pics later as well.

It's nice to have a visualization of the creature. :)

"Death Mask of Saint Christopher (Cynocephalus)", clay mask.

Did this piece for one of the final projects for my 3D design course! I was inspired by early Christian art that depicts St. Christopher with a dog's head.

I made the mask out of clay, had it fired in a kiln, and painted it with acrylic colours. I tried to create a creature that was somewhere between dog and man.

Vulpes vulpes feni, or, the Fennish common fox.

I've had the idea to make faux zoological illustrations for the wildlife in my worldbuilding project. The animals are inspired by medieval manuscript illuminations. I referenced the work of J.G. Keulemans for the rendering.

This is watercolour and sumi ink.
