When I’m reading and have apparently been imagining a fatter version of the character in my head the entire time and the author starts describing their figure in detail

scene from a fic I'm writing that will probably never see the light of day its about Tenna being insecure in terms of getting older and Mike helping him through it. and. other stuff that i wont get into here ........

whats upwrong with my TV bro

Ppl saying this isn’t mentioning Spamton . The original context was just specifically his fucked up relationship with the dreemurrs. If you include the dark world and ch3 stuff it becomes insane.

#Holy shit I forgot about the bent antenna. Dess would 100% be the kind of person who fucks around with the antennas to get a better signal#And he would just have to put up with it. How were they to know? That it hurt him?#They thought of it as annoying that she messed with the tv but nothing more. Would he even have said anything if he could?#The entire Dreemurr family gathered around him. Kris was enamored by Tenna because of Dess and they used that against him.#He would do *anything* to get the past back. Kris would as well. That's what unfortunately makes them inseparable.#Without Dess... Tenna was a scar that Kris would rather bury than ever see again.#The TV wasn't escapism anymore. It became part of it. The memories. The channels. The TV itself.#It's so great that these two characters want the present to be like the past. Back when they could ignore their problems.#When the feelings they hid could be smothered by their surroundings. Their friends. Their family. Their own showmanship.#When Tenna tries to be stoic - going along with the plan for the vain hope of becoming important again - he casts everything aside.#He can't let anyone close. He must not. For the sake of the mission and for the sake of his own importance. He has to help his family.#They're all he's got. It doesn't matter that they didn't care for him or forgot about him... they're back! He just has to do this one thing#Just this one simple thing and they'll allow him back again.#They'll trample him and forget about him again. Just like before. And he'll have pushed away all who helped him just to get his place back.#Kris at this point has tried the same thing as well. They want to deny the Soul the privilege of knowing about their life.#What they like. What they enjoy. No connection to friends or family. No knowledge of their passions or enjoyments.#For the sake of the mission. For the sake of family... it has to work. *YOU* have to work.#That does not mean you have to know about anyone. Or learn about anything unimportant.#Kris threw themself away to try and be a vessel without opinions or expression.#... They couldn't make it out of their house before their own opinions came out.#That bottle of shampoo made them instantly acknowledge that it was nearly full. The mirror? It's only you.#Try as they might they both can't hide their hatred for themselves away forever.#Inevitably they have to confront it. They both choose to run instead of confronting. They have to.#They knew it was coming. His fate was already decided. He took one step too close to the edge and he got mutilated for it.#Kris couldn't stop being themself. It wasn't that they stopped caring about others; they never cared about themself.#They hate the Soul. They hate that *YOU* are important. It forces them to be important as well.#But they have to be important for the plan to work. They just have to follow instructions.#Then they meet Susie... a changed Susie.#Once someone who would try to get a rise out of Kris now can make them smile.#Once someone who smashed a piano now someone who listens intently to their playing.

most difficult problem of writing fanfiction is when you need a character to express the particular surprised/dismayed/disappointed sentiment of going "jesus christ" but this isn't a lore friendly thing to say and there's nothing lore friendly that conveys quite the same emotion

me abt an idie project online i hated: no i mean like who the fuck am i to judge right i havent made anything i think it had its strengths and like it wasnt for me but for people who like that stuff i think they're really gonna love it i hope they find their audience i wish them all the success in the world for real

me abt big budget media that mildly annoyed me: it was dogggg shitttttt bro everyone involved should be lined up against the wall and shot

Playing through the Heavensward Crafter quests and it's interesting how some of the narratives they have are.... such a mixed bag? I've done three out of seven so there's hope for gold in there still, but the Culinarian questline is genuinely the strongest. A love story, a contest, multiple characters being involved and interested, an absolutely bonkers cutscene fresh out of Hildibrand. It was amazing! The Alchemist questline was interesting, but it felt rushed. As if they couldn't get all of the details out before the quest was over. I actually really liked the ARR Alchemist questline, so was a bit disappointed to see it fall a bit flat. A mystery is always interesting, especially when there are other details afoot, but it all ends as abruptly as it shows up. Kind of a bummer, because (spoilers to the questline I guess) HE MANAGES TO TRANSFER HIS SOUL TO ANOTHER BODY?????? HOW IS THIS NOT TALKED ABOUT??????? IS THIS NORMAL??? HE IS NOT A FUCKING ASCIAN HOW IS THIS GLOSSED OVER?? The Weaver story was interestingly a very small cast of characters. A mother, a daughter and her boyfriend. Being from Isghard, the daughter and boyfriend will join the fight against the dragons. This one also loses a lot of its impact because of pacing. It's sad because this could really have been a good story to tell, but it loses most of its value by never letting each side have a moment of pushing their foot down until the final cutscene, which the mother subverts by telling her story of who the daughter's father was. The mother was a chirurgeon too, and the father died of injuries before the daughter was born, causing the mother to panic and try and 'imprison' her daughter. It's cute, but it didn't have any outstanding moments. I don't know why I'm deciding to write these down. I probably won't review the others like this, and I know this cannot be considered a review so I'll instead say.... that'll work.

i think the most upsetting thing about american-flavor puritanism is how fucking patronizing it is. it's 2026 but the whole world still has to deal with a cultural hegemony grown from the gnarled vestiges of victorian-era paternalism. tax-paying adults with passports and the right to vote are treated like wayward children because of the antiquated idea that authorities must protect the weak minds of the unwashed masses from depravity and corruption. the average american can send a fellow citizen to the chair, but they can't piss in a ditch without being declared an outlaw. american entertainment media is saturated with sex, but you can't talk about it online without getting your account suspended. it's such blatant censorship at a universal scale, but because sexual content is framed as inherently dangerous, this restriction on basic adult autonomy, this blanket denial of moral and intellectual adulthood, can be reframed as protection, an expression of care, a moral duty. "won't someone think of the children!" I AM A GROWN MAN! I AM A GROWN MAN! I AM A GROWN MAN! I AM A GROWN MAN! I AM A GROWN MAN! I AM A GROWN MAN! I AM A GROWN MAN! I AM A GROWN MAN! I AM A GROWN MAN! I AM A GROWN MAN! I AM A GROWN MAN! I AM A GROWN MAN! I AM A GROWN MAN! I AM A GROWN MAN! I AM A GROWN MAN! I AM A GROWN MAN! I AM A GROWN MAN! I AM A GROWN MAN! I AM A GROWN MAN! I AM A GROWN MAN!

thank god that the video game that features slow motion animations of graphic gunshot wounds and is rated 18+ has a profanity filter in single player offline mode. thank you for protecting this 33 year old mind from the corrupting influence that is a horse named apple slut
