Hiya! My name’s Revarrie, formerly known as Sunset-Peril. You can also call me Mari, as that’s the name I plan to publish my novels under. Blog’s under some heavy construction at the moment, but I’m glad you’re here! I’m a Christian, a Zelda nerd, a dragon enthusiast, and overall fantasy lover.

Here on my blog you can find stuff about my Hyrule’s Final Stand series/AU (featuring the Wolfbred tribe), the original dragon universe Ekiathyes, and Endlings. I aim to honor God in everything I create and share, and lately I’ve been drawn to turning my Hyrule’s Final Stand into an original world all its own. Stay tuned for updates!

I love storytelling, worldbuilding, and original species design, and I’m passionate about exploring deep themes through a PG-13 lens. While I don’t consume R-rated content and won’t create NSFW, some of my works include mature themes such as genetic modification or crime, particularly in character backstories or plot arcs. Any content on the heavier side will be clearly marked, though I try to keep things thoughtful and tasteful.

Check out my projects here!

Check out my tag directory here! (coming soon)

Creative Notes

  • Everything I post is PG-13 or lower.
  • “Mature” = as PG-13 as I go.
  • I don’t use Linked Universe elements and don’t want anything to do with it — please don’t tag, compare, or otherwise attempt to associate my work as LU. I’ve put years into Hyrule’s Final Stand/Archives of Lothen, and I ask that you respect its identity. People who repeatedly break this rule will be given warnings. If the user refuses to respect the author’s wishes, a block and/or blacklist might be considered
  • I welcome fanart, fanfic and other fan derivations of my work! Just tag me when you share it.

Engagement Guidelines

  • My ask box is for genuine interactions. Asks asking for money will be reported as spam.
  • If you have been blocked by @archivesoflothen then please consider yourself blacklisted.
  • I don’t give out personal details to strangers and may seem emotionally distant when tired — please don’t take it personally.
  • I’m not comfortable interacting with anyone under 16, and I ask that minors respect boundaries around sensitive content.
  • I will not help minors bypass content filters.
  • Anon asks are limited due to spam but may be opened for specific events.
  • If you’re sending an ask to a character, please specify who!

Personal Values

I hold firmly to my Christian beliefs. I won’t start debates or attack others for differing views, and I ask the same courtesy in return. If my faith or values aren’t something you’re comfortable with, it’s okay to block or move on — no hard feelings. I believe in mutual respect and curating your own safe online space.

Final Thoughts

I’m here to create stories, build worlds, and share a little light. If you like dragons, Zelda, or unique fantasy, I think we’ll get along just fine.

Writer culture is having twelve new ideas, eleven WIP's, ten half-baked chapters, nine finished chapters, eight of which you hate, seven more new ideas, six scenes you've thought about extensively but refuse to write down, FIVE GOLDEN RINGS, four calling birds, three French hens, two turtle doves, AND A PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREEE~

(This is self-targeted)

Writer culture is one day hoping that the niche thing you write for gets its big break so people will see all your works you churned out for it, but also worrying people will instead take your content the wrong way and make you infamous for it.

Hiya! Hope you're not getting too annoyed with this yet! 😂

So, how's your day been?

Hi! Nope! 😂

Tumblr also actually sends me emails for asks (which it doesn’t for DMs) so I can actually respond in a timely manner, hahaha

It’s been pretty good! Been rotating things in the mental rotisserie a lot today. A lot. I’ve been working on finishing renames for Zelda characters for Lothen so I can get rid of the []. Right now, I’ve renamed all the champion-slot characters and I *think* all the leaders/monarchs, save for Rhoam. I’ve got Sonia penciled in as Esther at the moment because I just needed something to stick in there (I kept writing the kingdom name as “Hyrule” because I saw “Sonia” before the [] and went “ah yes, we know what to do here!”), but honestly I don’t know if I like it or not. 😂 Esther’s like, one of my favorite books of the Bible, so giving the founding queen in my dark fantasy story the same name is… giving me a bit of dissonance. Thematically, there’s a link there, so it’s not the most out of left field name to pull. It’s just the weird feeling of “should I use Biblical names in a non-Biblical context?” I guess.

I’ve also just been circling through thinking about Saithum & Rinku II, Karu & Xiyja, and Solitha & the Reclaimed Herd + Rinku III pretty much all day today. I want to work on a series outline for Lothen to slot all the narrative ideas I have for the whole shebang into a neat(ish) line, but I haven’t really found a good template for that yet. And I pretty much have to have a template to start any type of high-level organization, or I get really tangled up in my own rope 😅Another reason for the wanting of a series outline is I believe I might be wandering into the territory of “world-building as procrastination,” and so the outlines would help me determine where I have story points that actually need further world-building (i.e. it would actually be brought up in the story in a significant way) and where I’m just, again, tying myself with my own rope. Especially since I have three eras of time I’m tinkering with over the storyline.

One of the things I know I need to figure out is where Solitha’s recovered lab, and the main Reclaimed Herd “settlement,” are in relation to Audmina. The lab is, in concept, a mix of the Royal Ancient Tech Lab and that lab/temple-y Rauru & Co. found in, I think it was “level” two of Age of Imprisonment. It’s Royal Lab-y in the sense that Solitha & Taerne (Purah and Robbie) work there, Elvira Esmerelda & Rinku III frequent and all Lothen’s ancient tech work/research is done there; however it’s entirely the AoI lab in appearance and everything else, and it’s locked up tight for obvious reasons. I don’t want the lab in Audmina proper because that doesn’t make sense, but it needs to be close enough to Audmina to make sense. I have several other ideas on where to put it that I can’t decide on. Perhaps that will come with writing.

ALSO, my wiki software just had a new “Import from Pinterest and Unsplash) image update I’ve been itching to try out, so see if you can click this link and see the inspo images for what the lab might look like! (the rest of the wiki is a hot mess)

Another thing I need to figure out is the Master Sword conundrum. Which in itself lies the question "How am I gonna get Rinku/Akramu back to Audmina after his accident?” He was replaced by Pryze after his accident and taken to the Reclaimed Herd settlement (Her Scariness/Midna Marie doesn’t like anyone other than Ornathian healers, save for Solitha and the higher scientists in the Herd, monkeying with the Wolfbred’s last male.) and with the Master Sword lore, Link was just brute force returned to Hyrule to become a Champion about a yearish after the accident, thereby solving that problem. I don’t know if I’m keeping that whole bit or not, which makes two different problems out of one, potentially. I had an idea to make the “Master Sword” some kind of control device for ancient tech of some sort, but my confidence in using that is about equal to the Master Sword 😅😂

*looks up* Man, I like to yap. 😅

Anyway, how’s yours been?

Long, but not necessarily in a bad way, but tiring.

Hmm... The thing is, I think making the not-Master Sword some sort of device might imbalance the whole thing by making tech more important when, I can't help but think there should be some sort of magical, beyond mortal comprehension thing remaining within the world.

Also, I'm not really understanding why it would need to be a technological device specifically unless the not-Calamity was no longer going to be an actual person turned force of nature (which I couldn't forgotten about, mind).

Personally, if it were up to me, I might choose to simply make it a different type of ancient magical relic. Maybe a weapon, maybe not.

Another issue I have is that, in the original game, there's a degree of symbolism behind the fact that it was ancient, non-technological, faith-based power that was necessary to defeat the Calamity that destroyed a kingdom & very specifically not any of the massive mechs or widgets. As, to me, it held the underlying message that, there are simply some things that technology can't & shouldn't fix. Case in point, how technology was utilized to commit horrors beyond the pale upon innocents. Not only that, but as useful as technology is, we really shouldn't rely too much on it as it's inherently manmade &, therefore heavily flawed. So, I guess that it feels like by removing one of the only 2 real elements of not tech from the equation, it sort of lessens that?

Of course, that's just my opinion & I understand if you wanna go through with it anyway. In all honesty, I may just be behaving unreasonably in this regard due to my inner fan as well as the slight existential discomfort that I've been experiencing as I watch, uneasily, as technology begins to tread where I don't think it aught to.

Now, despite my personal feelings, I admit that it would further differentiate it from the original source material & am just struggling on a personal level. 😅

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make it a huge, awful criticism or anything. It's just that I'm still wrapping my head around the details & this was one of the only parts that I've managed to piece together a full thought on. 😓

As for the placement of the lab... Maybe I can take a quick look.

Alright, I think I have a descent candidate for the general area:

What do you think?

It feels like a place where not many people would go, while also having terrain that would help in keeping things hidden.

That's good!

Eh, I kind of agree that I don't really think the new "Master Sword" essentially being a Divine Beast is probably the best approach if you're going to study the plotline strictly from a "What does this say about our world and how it should be" point, but I'm not exactly doing that outside of "genetically modifying humans is bad" point, so that's more of a moot observation. Kinda like trying to proactively prevent readers from treating the two brother kings as lovers. At the same time; however, there's already so much science woven into this world that I fear trying to use an ancient, mystical weapon might seem like an "obligatory to the genre" cop-out.

Some of the story arc does outright state that the biopunk technology was vital to obstructing the end of the world, and therefore Rinku II had to be sacrificed to ensure it would occur despite how much suffering it would cause, but since Rinku III is technically biopunk tech in and of himself, I don't necessarily think the story requires a technological Master Sword. It was just one of the thousand concepts I've been juggling around while I'm still trying to figure stuff out.

I've kind of smashed the concepts of Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess together in a sense for the Antiquity era/Creation story as I've been pondering recently, so perhaps I could do something similar with the Master Sword-- blend the Goddess Sword concept with concepts from the Penumbral (Lothen's Twilight Realm, basically, although the Amalēthian were put there to prevent their annihilation rather that because they tried stuff). I've got a Shades/Malice/Gloom blend concept working, a short description of the one (and only) time Elvira incarnated, an account of the first Wolfbred that occured during the same time as Elvira's incarnation, and a handful of cosmically important Amalēthian characters, so I think that would be another way to execute the concept without it feeling like I included it just because of a "genre requirement."

That was sort of one of the places I was looking at. Admittedly, the strip itself exists only because I didn't like how the land looked without it. 😅 But that settlement just beneath the circle was one of the places I'd thought about assigning to the Reclaimed Herd. I'd also considered placing it in the mountain range over closer to Ritori (you can see my tentative "Solitha's Lab" in that picture, lol) but I honestly think thank might be too far away. It makes sense for coming up out of Aetrith, and it would work for the Reclaimed Herd and the Kawny seeing each other fairly regularly.

I'd also considered one of these two locations, as well as the little town in the top right (pretty much, I've considered almost every smaller Lothic town on the map! 😂)

Hey, it's your story. All I can do is give you my opinion & give a couple of suggestions.

If you wanna make the holy sword mcguffin into a doohikey mcguffin, then go for it.

Doohikey McGuffin got a surprising chuckle out of me, thanks 😂😂😂
