fine i’ll be the one to say it.. dustin and steve NEEDED that fight.
while yes, steve was harsh, dustin needed to hear it. they needed each other in that moment. dustin is a kid grieving the only person (in his mind) who truly understood and saw him.
it’s so important to me steve intentionally did not fight back. he was only concerned with restraining and stopping dustin from hurting himself.
if something went wrong and they didn’t fight. if dustin didn’t let out his grief and steve had went up that ladder.. if steve was selfish one last time.
