Growing up I used to think Rocky Balboa's proposals to Adrian in Rocky 2 was kind of lame but then I realized he's autistic as hell and she's kind of neurodivergent in her own way and looking at it through that lens it's really cute and I appreciate it more. It's not that Rocky didn't put in the effort. It's just that Rocky doesn't know how to express himself and neither does Adrian really. It takes a very long time for them to get comfortable enough to where they can express themselves at the level that they are at in Rocky 4 but they couldn't have done that without each other.
