OK, more about this theory, you can read the original post HERE
But I will explain it more in depth now
Episode 3 time wooo
In my theory I think Caine used Kinger's memories to write the script of the Hunter's recordings. The recordings are actually revealing Kinger, Queenie, Caine and Abel backstories
In this case: the Hunter represents Kinger, Queenie is the Hunter's wife, and the two parts of the Angel (Body and Head) are supposed to be Caine and Able.
Kinger enters the game/is already stuck in there, realizes what he has created and decides to terminate the two AIs.
In the recordings the Hunter is obsessed by hunting down the creature, his obsession brings him to accidentally kill his wife. Maybe Queenie didn't abstract like the others, but got accidentally caught by Kinger's attempt and got corrupted…?
Kinger manages to terminate Abel, but can't do the same with Caine.
A fraction of Abel code survived tho, and it is still lingering around in the depths of the Digital circus, still cursing it.
Reason I thought about this, is the way Pomni gets possessed by the souls in the hell section, and IMMEDIATELY taunts Kinger asking him "How's your wife"
(There's also another "possession" moment, this time happening to Gangle when Ragatha is high on stupid sauce, the two faces are quite close)
The reason I thought about this theory in the first place, is the way the hunter describes the creature, as "not quite a man, not quite an animal, something unholy".
Since in some of the official merch Caine gets depicted as an angel.
What I think is, Kinger hasn't lost his memory by staying in the Digital circus for a prolonged period of time but got wiped out/stolen by either Caine or Able's attack, the memories of the abstracted players can be used to train the AI's. In this case to write a whole adventure script.
These two are is not my own theories, I saw them somewhere on the internet, but I feel like they can still fit very well: (From two different YT videos tho)
- Since in this case Caine didn't kill Abel, he attempted to recreate his brother, but failed and Bubble (very similar name) came out instead
- Caine and Able where supposed to complement eachother and now Caine struggles to handle he whole circus by his own. Maybe Able was supposed to be more welcoming to the players and make them feel at home, create nice worlds.
While Caine had to manage the Adventure's obstacles and had to be perceived more like an antagonistic figure. He once complained with "I can't tell a compelling story where nothing bad happens. Where's the intrigue? The stakes?"
This last part tho... might be a stretch, since storytelling actually works that way.
my take -> ALSO LET'S BE HONEST, Character design wise: who the hell thought teeth (one of the most dangerous/aggressive body part) with eyes in his throat, could feel reassuring and welcoming. They also gave him a Red and Black color palette come on.
Saying this, I don't think Caine is evil, he only had to be PERCEIVED as an antagonist/more shady figure.
I- feel like I forgot to explain something... and I probably did... So if you still want me to go even further in depth, I will be really happy to share opinions with the Ask box Now have this silly Kinger GIF I animated in like 20 minutes lmao
