Art Books on Instagram: "Keith A. Smith's "Book 91" (Space Heater Multiples: 1982), aka the "String Book", numbered edition of 50 copies

In his auto-bibliography "200 Books" Smith writes: "This book deals with cast light and shadows. The light spots are caused by viewing the book with a single light source at a 45° angle and three feet to the left of the book. The opened book reveals punched holes with deep shadows. As each page is lifted, however, dark holes throw circular spots of light across the facing page and the close environment of the book...The sound, cast light and shadows and their focus and movement are not part of the physical book. They are physical but they only come into existence during the act of experiencing the book, that is, turning the page.""

equator on Instagram: "Shell patterns, 1978.

"Shell impressions are fascinating due to their natural geometry, often displaying symmetrical patterns or spiral shapes that follow mathematical principles like the logarithmic spiral. These structures are both aesthetically pleasing and scientifically valuable. Fossil shell impressions form when shells are embedded in soft sediment that later hardens into rock, leaving behind detailed imprints of the shell's surface.

They offer insights into the past, helping geologists date rock layers and reconstruct ancient climates and ecosystems. The fine details of the impressions, such as ridges and grooves, reveal information about the shell species and environmental conditions, making them an intriguing window into Earth's history."
