| she/her | writer, traditional artist, animator

Hello hello!

I enjoy making OCs, writing AUs, worldbuilding for things, etc. Essentially, I have a penchant for getting invested in things no one else cares about. Horror media is my bread and butter. I am quite new to sharing my art publicly; I mainly sketch and make outlines, but have been lining/coloring more as of late and plan to continue. I have fanfiction in the works as well!

I am in a few fandoms for media aimed toward younger audiences, despite not being a minor myself. While I’ll do my best to tag things appropriately, please note that I swear from time to time and have an unrefined sense of humor. Approach the silly goofy at your own risk.

Main fandoms: SCP Foundation, Gravity Falls, Wings of Fire, Minecraft, Gameknight999

❌ DNI: Transphobes, homophobes, aphobes, radfems, anyone who calls themselves a MAP, general bigots

12 warring sea princesses (my AU)

Not even a single emotionally stable person in the room.. and they all hate each other

So, Coral had 32 sons. Yea, nothing could go wrong

house of leaves / goncharov esque project consisting of the paratext of a nonexistent text where the described-but-unseen source material is an 800 page rulebook for the worst tabletop game you've ever heard of and the paratext is a series of arguments and blog posts generated by insane forum users

the author’s poorly disguised unchallenged ideas about how the world works, what is natural, what should go without saying

you called my favorite media… slop? like… for a pig? is that what you think i am? *gets on all fours* is this what i am to you? *snorts* you think i’m a pig? *snorts* *starts sniffing the ground* you think this is funny? huh? *starts squealing* WEEE WEEE WEEEEEEE… you like this? huh? huh? WEEEEEEEEEE *gets up* whatever. just forget it. i don’t care anymore.

A while ago I said pigeons are cute and someone said they're pests?? all of mother nature's creatures are beautiful so jot that down

What ABOUT mosquitoes, motherfucker? Do you think my values are so shallow as to be broken by the mere existence of a creature that is ugly or annoying? You insult me

People who are comfortable seperating living things into good vs bad do not sit right with me. Value doesnt correspond to your worldview. Beauty exists outside of what you consider pleasant. Disliking something is different than trying to deem it lesser. Yes this has to do with growing up neurodivergent what about it

I'm wondering if, as a society who cares about vulnerable people, we could stop saying "traumatize" when we truly mean "upset"?

I am sick of hearing sad books or movies "traumatize" their readers. I simply do not believe that happens. A traumatic experience might be adjacent to books (I have vivid memories of books I was reading around certain experiences and even how the contents of those books affected my processing of the experiences). But it's not caused by the book. And, y'know. The weather is Christofascist Censorship Attempts outside.

Meanwhile from the other side I continue to be surprised at just how badly people fail to understand trauma and traumatic experiences in general. Watering down the term isn't helping. Find other hyperbole to express that The Bridge to Terebithia gutted you, chewed on your heartstrings, and made you cry your first pair of contact lenses right out of your preteen eyes.

This post is taking off and I'm wondering if it may have been because of my tone, which was harsher than I truly like to be. Still,

  1. We have got to be cautious of talking about books as if they're dangerous
  2. We've got to be wary of the idea that talking about upsetting topics in general is dangerous (usually silence is far more harmful!)
  3. We could stand to be a bit more accurate in how we discuss traumatic events and their effects

I feel like we need a word for trauma that's less big. We need a way to talk about things that are distressing but don't cause actual psychological harm. Like, "Hey, that was intense, I need a minute."

We have one.

It's called "disturbing."

I fucking hate it when people do this for a word that they are misusing into unintelligibility.

“Ok so if gaslighting is reserved for talking about systematic abuse designed to make you stop believing your own senses, then we need a different word for when it’s just someone trying to convince you of something that’s obviously false.” We have that, it’s called lying.

“We need a word for low-level OCD that isn’t about dealing with intrusive thoughts and anxiety, it’s just about being super particular about things.” Fastidious. Perfectionist. Hyper-organized. Neat freak.

“We need a word for super mild intrusive thoughts – like, thoughts that are unpleasant, but that don’t actually intrude into your consciousness in a way which is difficult to stop or get rid of.” Thoughts. Those are just thoughts. You are describing the normal process of experiencing a bad emotion or idea, and you do not need to appropriate a medical term of art to describe that, or create a new term out of whole cloth.

Like come on, people, this is getting ridiculous.

recently ive been venturing into the exiting world of condiment based sandwiches. the deprivement of usual sandwich toppings is very useful for appreciating all flavors which may go undetected . like have you guys tried the balsamic vinegar on cold sliced bread sandwich its crazy the sweetness of the grape fermenting into a sour taste in your mouth is insane
