because he IMAGINED killing Joker.

After being infected by Joker’s blood and after being poisoned by fear toxin. That’s what it took for him to even IMAGINE killing someone who has ruined his and other people’s lives and whose death would be justified in every conceivable way. He is so morally righteous he cannot even bear to imagine killing people, let alone doing it.

In comparison, the local “cinnamon roll” Spider-Man has actively tried murdering people many times

I don't think people understand that Colin in fact HAD suffered enough.

People who say he hasn't are clearly not people pleasers/they have a supportive family.

That poor guy has no place in his family. He finally found a passion of his own and they don't care, like at all. Sure, they love him and support him, but no one replies to his letters, no one wants to listen to his stories, no one asks him how he is.

The only person who truly fully cares about him (and he knows that, as we've heard in his apology) is Penelope. And he screwed up and lost her, because he doesn't fit in his own family and he desperately wanted to fit amongst his friends, at least. So he said some stupid shit he shouldn't have and he was rightfully called out on that. And he's desperately trying to fix that. Again, by the only thing he knows best - pleasing others, putting someone else first, helping, doing something the other person wants.

When his father died, he was the one to lighten the mood, to be there for others and it simply sticked with him, which is a huge mental load for a kid.

That guy was crying, eating himself alive, he was not able to eat and sleep and he had no one to go to.

i feel like the criticism that season 3 should have had "more groveling" or more tension that would exist in an enemies to lovers storyline simply do not Understand just how romantic and gentle both pen and colin are. pen dreams of being in love and colin gets on his KNEES to tell her how he feels about her. he dreamt of her in the most fantasy-romance-esque setting. she stares at him longingly every chance she gets. this season is for the soft girlies...
