something i wish more fantasy media had is ridiculous extreme polytheism. EVERY god is real and the power difference between some of them is insane. at the low end you have minor folk deities with a few hundred followers and then you also have, like, hp lovecraft shit at the other end

the gods are in here killing and eating each other and shit and it’s ridiculously erotic

this is why i gave my protagonist like four romantic interests and counting from different castes

edit: i read polytheism as polyamorous but i stand by what i said

more fantasy media should also have polyamory too tbh. like what do you mean you’re in a high fantasy world with completely different culture and religions but you’re still bound to a eurocentric christian ideal for relationships. stop that

I feel like a lot of people are using the terms “bed-rotting” and “rest” interchangeably and I think that’s a huge problem. If you’re so tired you need a day in bed to just relax and do nothing you’re not rotting, you’re resting. You need rest. You were not designed to be on the go 24/7 but modern society expects this of us for some reason.

tbh i fully believe that healthy kids should be getting in some stupid trouble.

like, a child that’s in trouble all the time, frequently skipping school, getting caught doing crimes? that’s a kid that desperately needs literally any positive attention. that kid needs help. obviously.

but a child that is perfectly well-behaved, never speaks up for themself, is seen and not heard? that’s a child that’s afraid. they also need help.

Former teacher here, and I concur.

Children are wired to test boundaries, because deep down they want to know that those boundaries are there and that their adults will protect them when the boundaries are crossed. Because the world is terrifying, especially to a child, and whether consciously or not they know that those boundaries keep the monsters out as well as keeping themselves in. When a child does something dangerous, and Mommy or Granddad or Teacher shows up all growly and scary about it, they know deep in their little primate brains that their adults can and will protect them, even if it’s from themselves.

A child that never gets into trouble, and obeys at all times? That child has learned that the biggest danger to themselves is the adults meant to be protecting them. The boundaries no longer matter, because the monsters are all here.

Too much movement makes your joints hurt and too little movement also makes your joints hurt. This would imply that there's an optimal amount of movement that allows your joints to not hurt. This is a lie.

Brain fog is not an adequate descriptor, actually. Fog can be kinda nice and beautiful and ethereal and refreshing. The thing we’re describing is more like a brain BOG; everything moves slow like you’re wading through water, it’s clunky and heavy and you keep getting stuck in the mud. It’s uncomfortable and inconvenient and everything takes so much effort. You lost a shoe, probably.

y’all my friend decided to investigate what was blocking their drain system and you are not prepared for the answer

i never draw for posts but something about this overtook me so sorry op

I can’t speak for other social media webbed sites but I really enjoy how tumblr seems to just completely spin a wheel on whatever media is hot right now. Like yeah sometimes it’s a new show that’s big and actively coming out but also sometimes there will be a solid month where half my dash is Columbo memes. Defy authority. Get really into an book from the 1800s. Watch shows that haven’t aired in 40 years. Celebrate the anniversary of the Boston Molasses Flood. Become unmarketable

oh shit i almost missed it!

Have you guys noticed how much the internet/technology just does not listen to you anymore? I click “don’t show this artist” on Spotify and I get recommended a music video by them on the front page. I click “skip this update” on a pop up every time I open a file organization app and it’s right back there every time. O click unsubscribe on a newsletter and it keeps showing up in my inbox!! I click “delete my account” and the next time I open the website they suggest I “reactivate”.

Power is a funny thing.

ive always rly liked the idea of a member of a group of adventurers having what everyone assumes is very well trained hawk and then at the end of their journey its casually revealed that thats actually just his buddy whos a shapeshifter and just rly likes being a hawk

the guy also like thinks everyone knows bc he never tries to hide the fact that the hawk is a person but everyone assumes hes always just joking. like the others being like "damn its crazy how he knows exactly what you want him to do its like he knows english or something." and the guy is just like "well yeah thats his first language so ofc he's fluent??" and they all go "haha good one" and move on, leaving him confused

they just think hes a quirky guy that really loves his pet and says things like "the 9 of us" even tho there are clearly only 8 people! he just cares about the bird so much he counts it as a group member haha !

The thing about the moon is maybe you don’t need to write a poem about the moon. The moon’s been done, we’ve discussed it. It’s a coin a mirror an eye a lantern in the darkness. It’s a rock in space. It’s the dang moon we’ve all seen it! Is there something you can notice that’s is more surprising than the moon???
