Apollo Smintheios (of the mice)
Dionysus wearing a cunty corset as he curses a mf
You just summarized Dionysus' myths in one sentence 🤣
But it's true that his outfit's so pretty here ! I especially like the little jiggly ornaments and the long cloth all around his body
@starweaverblog wanna draw him in this outfit ? 👀
Btw the way animals are drawn in Greek vases is always so funny and this one is no exception.
Wouldn't miss that opportunity not to draw him ;)
@diarunas @femmepentheus imagining dionysus wearing this during the events of the bacchae
pentheus: i'm going to attack the maenads
dionysus:
When you went to bed at 7pm, so you’re awake at 3am, label something. The Maenad solid perfume is finished. Scent notes: You, driven mad by a Greek god, meet a satyr a in pine forest and after tearing a man to pieces and eating him, you make feral love in decaying leaves, oak moss, and pine needles. Afterwards you share a juicy orange. No walk of shame; you next decide to overthrow a corrupt government.
(adding the link in case anyone wants to try the perfume) 🌲🍊🍂
By the way, my polytheists, you are allowed to change your mind at any point.
If you learn something new about your Gods that completely flips your worldview, or discover that someone is not who you thought, or that multiple deities are actually one guy, or that the guy you thought was one guy is actually 3, that’s all okay. In fact it’s more than okay, it’s very good.
It’s okay if you realize that you’ve had the wrong idea about something. We’re supposed to be learning and changing our minds. Sometimes it can feel like we’re “wrong”, morally wrong, for having something mixed up about deities we care so much about, and that’s a terrifying feeling. But it’s all okay. Different interpretations and sources will extract different archetypes and meanings. If you discover that one of your deities serves a slightly different function than you thought, if you’ve misremembered a myth, if you just found out you’ve been pronouncing that name wrong, that’s all okay. Just like our human relationships, we learn new things about the Gods every day. You’re not wrong for learning something new, and your ignorance wasn’t wrong either. Keep learning.
