I finally finished this today, something I started on around when the clip dropped. That scene was so powerful in many ways. I will probably need to take a better photo of the art in some better lighting. But as always, I’m too impatient to wait until morning. :D

Important Article 13/Article 11 information

Spoke with Unicron on AO3 again, and they’ve informed me of the following:

  1. The proposal for Article 13 that has been approved is the EPP version. This, according to Julia Reda, involves narrowing down upload filters to platforms that host “significant amounts” of uploads and “promote” them (so bad news for Tumblr and possibly DA) but will also exempt small/micro enterprises and non-profit organizations (so Archive of Our Own will be unaffected, which is good). This isn’t a great proposal (Reda actually states that it’s one of the two WORST) but at the very least, we know what will be affected and what won’t.
  2. Unfortunately, the Article 11 proposal that passed is a little less safe; it’s only real change is that links are allowed to contain “individual words” of an article, which many people are pointing out is too vague and not elaborated on enough, which may be their attempt at tricking people.
  3. The next and final vote will be in 2019 (February at the earliest, likely in Spring) and even if it gets approved again the changes most likely won’t roll out until 2021, which gives us more than enough time to fight back against the proposals. The important thing is not to panic or give up. The vote’s still not final and nothing is going to change overnight.

In short, we have plenty of time to raise a fuss about this, as long as we, say it with me, DON’T GIVE UP.

If you’re European, in a couple of weeks you will be denied any and all access to fandom contents on Tumblr and everywhere else on the internet. Here’s why.

On June, 20th the JURI of European Parliament approved of the articles 11 and 13 of the new Copyright Law. These articles are also known as the “Link Tax” and the “Censorship Machines” articles.

Articles 13 in particular forces every internet platform to filter all the contents we upload online, ending once and for all the fandom culture. Which means you won’t be able to upload any type of fandom works like fan arts, fan fictions, gif sets from your favourite films and series, edits, because it’s all copyrighted material. And you won’t also be able to share, enjoy or download other’s contents, because the use of links will be completely restricted.

But not everything’s lost yet. There’s another round of voting scheduled for the early days of July.

What you can do now to save our internet, is to share these informations with all of your family members and friends, and to ask to your MEP (the members of the European Parliament from your country) to vote NO at the next round, to vote against articles 11 and 13.

Here you can find more news and all the details to contact your MEP:

Also, sign and share this petition:

We have just a couple of weeks to stop this complete madness, don’t let them dictating the way we enjoy our internet.

#SaveYourInternet now!

It’s funny how y'all will reblog any and all US things but when whole Europe might lose access to internet then everything is quiet.

@me-fish @residesatshamecentral What do we have to think about this?

@sweetss80 @me-fish good grief. Look, are we sure this is entirely true? How can anyone possibly protest to fanart? Gifsets, just possibly, under copyright, images, maybe, but how could they police edits? If you have seen my manips you would agree that no bot could identify the sources. I would want to make sure of the sources on this before accepting they could be so unreasonable about copyright or so dim as to think they could police it all.

I heard some right-wing website was spreading fake or exaggerated stories about something like this…lets check the sources first before assuming this is true.

I feel like no one realises how bad this actually is. To make it clear for y'all if this law passes, it’s going to be 1000x worse than net neutrality. This is a literal internet censorship.

Want to post a cute fanart? BLOCKED. A fanfic? BLOCKED. Do you have a friend in europe and want to send them a meme? BLOCKED. Youtube let’s plays? BLOCKED Dan’s meme videos? BLOCKED.

Nearly not enough people are talking about this so please, even if you’re not european, help us and take part. We did the same when net neutrality was trying to ruin all of our lives. I’ll put some useful links below.

- !anyone can sign!

x <- fixed link for call/email your local mps

- !you can only do this if you live in europe/uk!

Take part, lads🌸✨

Right so to add to this. My friend has already been affected by this shit today . Her gmail profile pic which was eevee (pokemon) has been removed apparently due to eu copyright laws. It was a fucking profile pic. @eu fuck u

also Philip DeFranco made a p good video about this topic. I’ll link it which according to the new laws will also be illegal.

🇺🇸 Another addition for y'all americans: Just so you know there’s quite a big chance a certain cheeto could get inspired by the shit eu is going to pass rn and then we’re all screwed.

🇬🇧 UK lads: UK is going to be affected by this until the day they officially leave the EU and that is in 2021. Contact your local MPs link is above.

🇪🇺 europeans: Are basically all going to be fucked if we don’t do something! Contact your local MPs link is above.

🌏Rest of the world is hopefully sane but still…. please try to help even if this isn’t going to affect you directly.

Any help is appreciated but please try to spread the message as well as signing the petition. Thank u all
