So! With characterization there is the one meme of looking at an interpretation and thinking “he would not fucking say that”. Which begs the question: what does he/she/they already fucking say?
Whenever I’m writing a new character, I always have three tabs open: their Deltarune wiki page, their sprites on the spriter’s resource, and the big deltarune text dump to catch dialogue that the wiki misses. From there, the process varies a little in accordance with this nifty, non-comprehensive chart
That notably crowded lower-right quadrant is where the most improvising has to happen. How do you take a character meant for a few video game exchanges and bring them into a scene for thousands of words?
i hate. hate hate hate how popular spamtenna got because it means 99% of people either just turn their brain off so they can make Oc yaoi slop or they hate it so much purely because its popular that they refuse to engage with their relationship in any way and mark it off as purely a fandom delusion. .... So now if i were to talk about their relationship in canon actually being relevant to deltarune as a whole people will look at me like im crazy. because no one wants to actually analyze them. except like 3 people ever. Get me out of this hell
