Letti | She/Her | 30s | UK | Serial procrastinator | I only really follow back Sims 4 blogs. WCIF friendly.

Okay here we go, I don’t know why I’m so nervous typing or posting this but it probably has to do with the fact that I never imagined myself having to do this.

So as some of you may (or may not) know, I am of Jamaican heritage. I was born in the UK as was my mother but both of her parents were born and lived in Jamaica and my mother was raised there for most of her life. It’s a heritage that I am extremely proud of, a tiny island with such a big influence around the world. Not just because of our food or music but our people too, nothing can keep us down.

On Tuesday Oct 28th hurricane Melissa made landfall on the island of Jamaica and caused a historic level of devastation for the island. Peoples homes, towns and livelihoods were destroyed and multiple lives were lost. We are a resilient people but there comes a time in life when we all need help which is what my family and I are asking for right now.

My grandmother spent years of her life working to build her home in Jamaica and it was something she was very proud of but unfortunately hurricane Melissa took that from her. My grandmother who is now 83 has dementia and diabetes so being without a roof over her head is extremely concerning and we as a family want to remedy that as soon as we can, even from hundreds/thousands of miles away. Below I will post a link to the GoFundMe page for donations to help rebuild my grandmothers house.

I understand we are all struggling right now (hence the need for a GoFundMe in the first place) so donations are welcomed and greatly appreciated but I know that is not a possibility for a lot of people understandably so if you could just please share this post that would be greatly appreciated too! 🫶🏽

Thank you,

my least favorite part about starting a new sims save is how long it takes me to setup their home/neighborhood/townies/neighbors

i am too much of a perfectionist to let go and just play, the world i drop my babies into needs to feel alive before i feel ready but that just leaves room for me to grow bored of building/setup and i abandon the thing before I can even get going…is it me or were things a bit easier in TS3 and TS2?

hello. if you’re reading this, sharing, or donating, thank you. i’m a disabled brown lesbian on disability support while i recover from an injury… i am currently unemployed due to said injury and i am asking for some help with debt repayment… i’m surviving off of afterpay in between disability payments but it’s been hard to keep up with costs of living with my allowance. if you have anything you can spare, i’d greatly appreciate it. if not, that’s okay, and i thank you for reading thus far. <3

New city. New life. And some carefully managed chaos.

Tamsin leaned over the balcony of her new apartment, the city lights stretching endlessly below her. Someone’s car alarm echoed against the hum of electricity, the thrum of a night club nearby — probably Waterside Wharble that she’d seen today. She wrapped her fingers around the cool railing and sighed, dropping her shoulders just a pixel.

Everything seems right from up here, she thought to herself, for now at least. Doubt pricked at the edges of her focus.

Above the whisper of wind between buildings and the buzz of traffic, Tamsin imagined the life she was meticulously building for herself. Her career. Her apartment. Her routine. All lined up perfectly. Unquestionable and neat. Yet somewhere beneath it all, something flickered, a static she couldn’t quite mute.
