A bit ago I was having a casual conversation about the hypothetical survivability of each member of a friend group in an apocalypse, all cis except me, and at one point I joked "but yeah I unfortunately do like having the pharmaceutical system for my hormones, in this situation I'd have to go old school with horse piss" as a way of saying how it would be shitty but then in the moments afterwards I had a beautiful vision of being a nomadic horse herder on the slowly rewilding, post apocalyptic great plains, purifying the urine of the pregnant matriarch mare and distributing it to women with hormonal imbalances (cis or trans), slowly travelling Northwest with the spring thaws to reach the grazing lands in what used Montana
Obviously it'd suck for a lot of other reasons. But. Y'know. A girl can dream
that does sound more idyllic than IYFALO post-apocalyptic pig-farming
I mean the point of IYFALO is that every human being alive needed something, so it had to be mass produced. The small scale of this little fantasy helps make it idyllic.
And y'know. Again. It ignores the millions of horrific implications and consequences of any kind of "apocalyptic" event.
