i've been watching stranger things lately and i noticed something...
reincarnation

Why would props change colours? Why would a show built for nerds and queer audience betray us like this? Why would we be punished for grasping at straws and coming up with crazy theories based on tangible evidences no one seems to see but us, when Joyce Byers went through the same and was RIGHT.
It's forced conformity. It's what's killing the kids.
I choose to believe. #conformitygate
Seeing that fuckass epilogue of Will in a gay bar and remembering how when Noah was asked where he saw Will in the future, he said that he'd be focusing on his painting (his passion, as he said) and have someone to share coffee with. THAT should have been his epilogue, it's insane that the Duffers seem to have no understanding of their characters compared to the actors.
here’s to all the weird little girls growing up into even weirder men
And to all the weird little boys who grew up into weird women.
and the weird little whatevers that grew up into weirder whatevers
it really is interesting how the ga have started believing this insane theory based on subtext and clues and little background inconsequential details. they are experiencing the exact same thing we did because they wanted a satisfying ending, but they didn't believe in the byler theory which actually had even more evidence. it really does answer the question for me: they thought byler was too far-fetched not because it was all based on little details, not because it wasn't obvious enough, but because it's gay.
not loving the way it keeps boiling down to homophobia and misogyny over and over again
Having a queer character believe he won't find love and proving him right is not good writing.
Having a character grow up in solitary confinement and then ripping her away from the only family she's ever known to live a life of solitude once again is not good writing.
Having a character be in love with his best friend and then just compare it to a high school crush is not good writing.
Having Eleven say that Mike has always been the person who truly understood her after showing us in the previous seasons that he only sees her as a superhero IS NOT GOOD WRITING.
Having two girls be abused by a man with power for the majority of their lives only to leave them dead and alone as a direct consequence of the trauma they suffered IS VILE WRITING
Reminder that the very core of conformity gate is Mike Wheeler being a queer closeted man who chose conformity over being his true self, and now he’s seeing his life pass by with the consequences of that decision (except it’s all happening in his head where we, the audience, is trapped with him under Vecna’s curse)
The gate doesn’t WORK unless Mike is a closeted queer man.
It also doesn’t work if Byler isn’t canon.
That’s the gate.
Okay again, I don’t believe in conformitygate but I’m obsessed with it as a concept. The fact that Murray said you have to water a story down if you want to sell it to the masses, but that all it takes is one person calling bullshit and then everyone will fall in line. The fact that this is what has happened with the theory and the general audience doesn’t even know why it’s call conformitygate. Will saying it’s like a scary movie that you can’t turn off. The finale being played in the theaters. I wish the Duffers were as insane writers as us.
