Summary:
Buck can say with absolute certainty that he is happy. He loves his work and his team, he met an amazing man, also known as Eddie Diaz, and he is falling in love with him.
And then Maddie shows up, and everything seems to keep falling apart.
as much as i love how open and honest and self-deprecating langdon is being about his substance issues, we cannot ignore that this man was completely alone with them before the dam broke. so with all of these reconnections he’s doing with people who used to see him in a positive light, he’s also trying to make sure they know he’s vulnerable. he’s doing the work but he’s vulnerable. and even though he seems like he’s just going to keep calm and carry on at work, the instability of his relationships has shaken him. his wife left him. his mentor is avoiding him. the one person who saw straight through him now can’t even make eye contact. there is such an undercurrent of sadness and desperation every time he brings up where he’s been. he needs to be seen and he needs to know he won’t be left alone again.
