not a week ago, my sister scorned fanfiction, she'd talk about it in that carefully polite way that conservative parents talk about politicians they don't like in front of their loved ones who do like them

but then she caed

she said it was just one fic, just one

she said she wouldn't get an Ao3 account, not even to comment, because it's just one fic

she said Tumblr wasn't for her, that it was a weird place she didn't belong

in the course of me going to work and coming home, she has gotten Ao3, Tumblr and has already read through all the tags and is now declaring that she has to learn fic-writing and practice drawing more because she needs more and it's not enough, it's never enough!

It's making me cackle
