the info box was empty so I put some text in it.

Marie Curie's notebooks are crazy once you think about it. They're so radioactive they have to be sealed in a lead box. Imagine a world where atomic theory is forgotten and a dude just goes "yea there's a book that details the secrets of the universe, the machinations of the creation of existence down to its barest essentials, but if you get close to it you fucking die. The more you read it the more your body slowly disassembles into mush." like wat excuse me

The Natural History Museum in the UK has been open since the 19th Century. The oldest collection, Geology, hasn't changed much since those days, as there's only so many ways people can come in and look at rocks. However, when I visited in early 2010s, there were a number of small, yellowed pieces of paper marking where specimens had been removed, and explaining that these were later discovered to be radioactive.

Imagine people looking at fucking uranium in those glass cases.

I hate job interviewing "why are you interested in this job" I'm literally not? I do not want to do any of this.

"what can you bring to the company?" apprx. 40 hours a week of vague attempts at labor. maybe less if you guys suck.

it was awesome being a kid worried about the environment. like oh they are cutting down too many trees, we have to work together and plant more :~) but these days its like its in the air its in the water its in my blood its in my blood its in my blood its in my blood

it’s actually really easy to satisfy audiences with Good Representation. you can’t depict someone struggling with their Otherness because that portrays it in a bad light but you have to depict them struggling with their Otherness because if you don’t, then you’re romanticizing how hard it is to be Othered. be super careful not to depict anything that might be adjacent to a common stereotype but if you go too far to avoid all stereotypes, then you’re still building the characters around stereotypes, which is a stereotype in its own way. if your storyline uses tropes, then it’s cliche, but if it avoids tropes, then it’s inauthentic. if you lampshade any of this, then you’re speaking down to your audience but if you don’t acknowledge this, you’re also speaking down to your audience. this is all really easy stuff i don’t know why people don’t get it.

looking at jobs is like vintage toothpick sorter entry level immediate start ..... wow maybe I could be a vintage toothpick sorter.... *starts to envision a future where I am deeply involved in vintage toothpick sorting* *scrolls down* "5 years vintage toothpick sorting required Minimum!" *my dreams of vintage toothpick sorting dissolve into dust"

Integrating new routines or making big changes in the middle of winter is insane. The earth is in a slumber. You should spend January thinking about what you want to achieve or experience, and spend February making plans and creating steps and gather tools for doing so. When the earth wakes, and light is returning, begin anew. That is the time for seedlings and curiosity and motivation. Not fucking January .

if i ever become a showrunner i will actually do the fake series finalle followed by the true ending where the popular gay ship is confirmed just so i can forever poison fandom with the idea that it can happen for real and then they will truly never let that hope go for all other subsequent shows they watch henceforth. just for the sake of making the world a worse place

eating an apple outside really is the closest you can get to smoking without smoking. some would think thats vaping but vaping is closer to eating a comically large lollipop in public

Love how early Daredevil EPs are just Foggy and Co. wondering where their beloved blind friend is and assuming he couldn't have gone far only for it to cut to Matt dragging his mangled body through some blown up warehouse

Peak secret identity comedy that other superhero shows wish they had

he had to jump in the ballpit to cool off after getting all airplane ears over a treat puzzle that proved a little too advanced

he's done this a few times now. the ball pit actively soothes him when he gets mad over puzzles. i could learn something from this

Fact: Movies are lying to you – beating up an inanimate object is not an effective way to deal with anger. Usually it just makes you angrier.

Corollary: Beating the shit out of an inanimate object is, however, often a very effective way to deal with anxiety.

Conclusion: Anxiety is punchable.

Beating up inanimate objects rewards and reinforces your Fight response to stress. If your issue is "too much Fight response", this is very unhelpful.

If your problem is "too much Flight or Freeze response," however, balancing the response humors might be a viable strategy in some circumstances.

Well as someone who has used the PUNCH IT method for both . . . kinda true, sure didn't make me feel better when I was angry (I felt worse because I broke stuff). But it does help when I kick anxieties ass and go do a thing, actually kick something, then punch the bullet and get er done!
