As someone living in Minnesota, if you think both sides are the same, and Trump is only doing openly what Obama did quietly, I will simply say I don't remember minority-owned businesses having to keep their doors locked during the day to stop ICE from coming in and taking everyone.

The thing I hate most about the online left is that adamant refusal to believe in nuance or proportionality. If two things are bad, then they are equally bad. If things get worse, we’ll then that’s meaningless because it was always bad. And so often, this manifests in lecturing minorities about why they shouldn’t be afraid about the armed Gestapo kidnapping their loved ones because “um actually things were also bad in the past so you’re a fascist for being upset they got worse”

Nuance is not the enemy. People are allowed to be afraid

Say whatever you want about Be More Chill but no song ever comes as close to accurately depicting the undiagnosed autistic high school experience as More Than Survive. 14 y/o me had never felt so seen before.

I absolutely love the end of Loser Geek Whatever like you have that beautiful held note, then the optic-nerve blocking where Michael just straight up DISAPPEARS, then the Squip comes back in in a gorgeous ass new outfit and reaches out for Jeremy, but RIGHT before he actually grabs him the lights go out: end of Act One and it’s SO GOOD O EM GEE….

Also how right before Michael is optic-nerve blocked it’s relatively dark, but then after he’s gone the blue lights come on, with Jeremy alone with the Squip then it actually comes out like OUGHHHHH

(Just gotta highlight that moment bc I REALLY like how the lights go out right before the Squip makes contact with Jeremy bc it leaves a sense of suspense(?) in the air right before Intermission)

the thing is it’s so easy to be cringe about bmc again because it is literally so easy to listen to the music and think of the Characters. Like it is so easy to project other blorbos into the story and the songs and every time you feel like you’re connecting five bajillion dots but really it’s just that you gravitate to characters suffocated by their perceived otherness and desperate need to fit in

Me when seeing people’s takes on liking how Jeremy didn’t have a solo in Two River bmc bc he wasn’t “the one who the story’s about,” but I like how lgw gave him a solo at the end of Act 1 because yeah, he felt like he wasn’t the one who the story was about, BUT by taking the Upgrade, he was taking the decision to MAKE himself the one who the story was about. He was choosing to go with the Squip; to take control of his own life and make himself the main character, and that’s when he gets his big solo number, and I love that I love him so much he’s so great I love him

Me when Act One ends with Jeremy saying he’ll mute his own voice inside his head (LGW) and Act Two ends with Jeremy saying that of all the voices in his head the loudest one is his (VIMH)

hello i'd like to share this:

George Salazar singing Loser Geek Whatever I have changed my ways. I used to only listen to two river, but now listen to both equally

"The problem has always been me!!" and then it's literally just an insecure autistic teenage boy with internalized ableism

“I’m straight”

“I’m gay”

Well I'm steady as the game's begun im ready set I’m player one the future’s now I’m freaking done with being the weirdo, the wuss, the underdog being the misfit, the old school analog being the oddball, the weakling freak the failure, the sucker, the “please don’t speak” oh I can’t hardly wait from the moment when I’m not the loser, the geek, or whatever I’m not the loser, the geek no never, no, I’m not the loser, the geek or whatever ever again

Shadows of inspiration

From the Heated Rivalry genderbent gymnastics AU

Liliya & Shayna c. 2010 plus some afterimages of gymnasts who I imagine inspired them. Probably their first remembered Olympics would be 1996 for both of them, then a one of the well-known greats who younger girls often latch onto :) in Shayna’s case, one better known in Canada than globally, but still

Liliya: Svetlana Boginskaya (Russia 1996); Olga Korbut (USSR 1972)

Shayna: Amy Chow (USA 1996); Elfi Schlegel (Canada 1976)

angel in space who falls in love with an astronaut floating out in the void, not realizing they've been dead for years out there nor comprehending what death even is. is that anything

the angel starts leading them back to earth cuz they think that's what'll make them feel better, finally talk back to them, open up. it takes lightyears to get back to earth's atmosphere and when they do, the angel embraces them as gravity takes hold and pulls them crashing down. they both incinerate into ash and disappear. is that anything

idk is this anything
