Sepideh Moafi and Shawn Hatosy talking with dergy.com.
CH: It’s great to hear that from you. I’ll get straight to my questions. Since we see Covid as a hidden plotline underlying the main story in the series, I’m curious; after humanity experienced such a massive phenomenon, what are your thoughts on it? What are your feelings about life, about living and dying? What is your perspective on Covid?
SH: I think Covid and many of the social issues we address, the experiences of the healthcare professionals in The Pitt, aren’t just about medical problems. There are systemic issues. For me, the biggest gain is that healthcare professionals who went through this process and were harmed by Covid were given a voice. I’m glad they now have something to offer. I spoke to many doctors and nurses who would turn on the show and say, “I can’t watch this, it makes me feel like I’m at work, I don’t want to come home and watch work,” but when they watched it to the end, they said, “This was a very cathartic experience, thank you.” That means a lot to me.
