Hudson Williams is acting his ass off as Shane Hollander and in my opinion a lot of criticism about his performance is directed at clearly intentional acting choices.

He deserves just as much credit and flowers as Connor does. Shane is an incredibly difficult role to play and the amount of work he’s doing with his face and body is immaculate. His stilted line delivery feels like a very intentional portrayal of his emotional repression and social awkwardness.
