“She’s cute.”

“Also, situationship? I wouldn’t say it’s the right word to describe whatever is going on between us,”

“Hell, I think there’s almost nothing there. It barely exists but not enough for it to be called a situationship.”

“You’re picking up what I’m putting down, right?”

FE3H Faction Fashion Aesthetics

Making a personal resource for myself and others to use. Hoping to make it easier for myself when designing ocs for the universe going forward. It’s a lot more obvious in Three Hopes than in Three Houses, but the same thing applies.

Adrestian Empire

Exemplifying the supposed opulence of Adrestia, there are a lot of curves and flares in Adrestian armor and clothing. While the armor is built with a heavy emphasis on form, it does not sacrifice function. They favour the warmer colour spectrum, with some exception.

Tassles, fringe, balloon hems, and large capes are used en masse, creating a larger, tapered frame that can also be interpreted as imposing or meant to attract attention. Like the large plumage of a peacock or, well, an eagle.

They style themselves like birds, a regal distraction from their strength. (How appropriate.)

Holy Kingdom of Faerghus/Faeghus Dukedom

Layers, layers, Layers.

The clothing in Faeghus is entirely meant to keep you warm, and the armor is layered, sturdy, and functional. Even the mages and speed focused warriors wear layers to protect themselves from the elements, usually following the cooler colour spectrum.

Accessories and jewelry are typically simple - likely a nod to the poverty of the country itself and a focus on knightly culture - and most of the catching details come in the form of colour and the way the layers are implemented.

Also, very important, furs!! Like the manes of lions, nearly all of the noble characters hailing from Faerghus in Three Hopes wear some form of fur. (Sylvain is the only exception to this rule, as he wears a scarf instead.)

Leicester Alliance/Federation

Leicester has very little in the way of cohesive clothing design. That is, however, because there is a heavy emphasis on form and ease of movement.

The armor is typically light, if available at all, and is comfortably located primarily around the chest. Clothing is loose and airy, a physical representation of the city-state’s very fluid nature.

As for the colours, they are vibrant and colour a wide range of the spectrum, not totally centered around one particular side - another nod to their unorthodox standard of living. Spots, eye-catching patterns, and long fluid lines – that’s the Golden Deer for you.

Duscur, Brigid, and Almyra

So, it took some digging, but I believe a lot of the basis for these three specific places is heavily borrowed from African, Celtic/Hawaiian, and Persian cultures respectively.

Using Dedue as the basis, Duscur style appears to be very much inspired by a mix of the ancient Nubians - particularly the Kushites - and the ancient Egyptians. Focusing mainly on the golden or potentially copper adornments and textiles he wears, I imagine their style was heavily focused on mixing patterns with a wide array of colour. (Dedue mixes that alongside Faerghus-style armor and layering, a very good example of character-driven character design.)

At first, I had assumed Brigid had more of a Hawaiian leaning due to a number of factors concerning Petra specifically, how the location is a tropical archipelago historically sought after for resources/colonization by foreign armies, and a lot of… other less than savoury historical tidbits. But, after some research, I discovered a lot of Celtic inspirations as well! Flowing clothing with form fitted areas only where necessary, tattoos around the arm and upper back, golden neck rings and bangles, and elaborate hair braiding styles are the name of the game on Brigid.

Almyra is, almost incredibly so, inspired by the ancient Persian (Achaemenid) Empire – an empire known for its warriors and its lustre. So, you know what that means. Gold. Gold everywhere. But only elite warriors (or royalty, in the case of Shahid and Claude) use gold in their armor, so for a lower soldier, iron and bronze work best. Natural colors like yellow, orange, and green are commonly used for their loose and flowy clothing, normally accented by deep browns, black, and white linens. Like the Duscur people, they too use complex patterns and dyes. Boots and shoes are sometimes curved at the tips, but greaves are not. Head accessories range from headwraps to turbans to tiaras and diadems.

baby felix used to everyone doting on him and listening to him and taking his baby demands and opinions very very seriously even if they’re just humoring him, even if they just think he’s adorable, then suddenly the world ends, glenn dies, dimitri goes mad and felix is the only one who sees it, but now no one is listening to him, no matter how much he metaphorically screams, but that just drives him to scream more

faerghusfucker:

THIS THIS THIS EXACTLY THIS!!!!

felix has absolutely undoubtedly been spoiled his entire life up until the tragedy of duscur, and that gave him possibly the worst and rudest awakening and coming of age than i think he ever would’ve had otherwise. to an extent i feel that that applies to all of the faerghus nobles except maybe sylvain because he had it rough the entire time (ingrid as well to an extent but thanks to being sent to stay in fraldarius much of the time, it’s safe to say she was able to at least be away from her territory’s woes much of the time.)

also i just had a conversation with a friend about this and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion that like. the bulk of felix’s trauma does not come from the tragedy itself, but THE AFTERMATH!!!! felix generally processes his grief for his brother in a way that feels. very very normal? definitely not perfect but he has a somewhat healthy view of glenn’s death that doesn’t glorify it or put him in a mindset of needing to avenge it. it’s just a really bad thing that happened.

but then his dad tried to say that his brother’s death was a good thing??? and ingrid locked herself in her room and refused to come out, not even to feed her horse??? and what i feel like is the most understated bit of felix’s trauma, DIMITRI BEHEADED A MAN IN FRONT OF HIM AND ENJOYED IT!!!!! dimitri, his best friend, someone he looked up to and probably sought out for comfort and stability during this time after the tragedy, committed an act of violence that felix fully would not have been able to conceive of at the time. this was their first battle, and in that battle he saw his best friend act that way. dude i’d crash out too!!!

i feel like the potential of felix suffering from the trauma of that battle is way way understated!!! he’s characterized as being angry with dimitri, but what if that anger was actually a cover for fear the whole time???? he warns byleth constantly about dimitri, and in azure moon when his warnings end up to be accurate, he refuses to go near him at all, instead just begging byleth to help him. this could be a grudge, or it could be driven by fear.

i feel that his categorization of dimitri as a boar/beast is also a form of a trauma narrative. he can’t conceive of his dimitri being capable of such atrocities, and so he never associates them with him by name. the boar is the killer, the boar wants revenge, the boar is an entity inside of dimitri that must be tamed and kept inside so that the real dimitri can stay on the outside. but this narrative falls apart as felix sees this construct of the boar bleed into what he believes to be dimitri’s real self, and part of his arc in their support chain is coming to terms with the fact that dimitri holds this duality all the time, that there isn’t a separate boar prince and that it’s all the real dimitri.

side note, but the story that felix tells to raphael in hopes about the wild boar that he encountered on a hunting trip speaks LOADS to his choice of insult for dimitri. when he encountered that wild boar, it nearly killed him. he was young, and probably felt afraid and powerless when he was attacked by such a powerful animal. dimitri’s downward spiral and the resulting violence made felix feel so afraid, so powerless, so weak, that he couldn’t reconcile the fact that his best friend did such things and instead had to start associating him with the animal that almost killed him as a child.

and how did felix and raphael kill the boar in that support chain???? with TEAMWORK!!!!! felix was stressing about that wild boar because he barely escaped with his life when he encountered a similar one in the wild. but once he and raphael worked together they were able to hunt one down. WHICH IS AN ALLEGORY FOR HOW NO ONE PERSON OR ACTION WOULD EVER BE ABLE TO HELP DIMITRI!!!!! it takes work from multiple people and for a long time to help tame the boar so to speak.

did i mean for this ask response to end up being about felix and raphael’s hopes supports???? no! am i mad that it did????? also no!
