Cool game. I feel like I should preface this by saying I'm playing on the browser version. Ah, and I'm also aware that newer projects take precedence but I did come across this in my first 20 seconds of scrolling the adult tag (I also don't know how the viewing order is done on itch, so this may mean nothing) - and I really like ranting. ok :
I find it weird that freeze is forever, even though the tooltip - and the pause button tutorial - mentions that it should last 2 turns. As such, i just freeze everybody - who doesn't get one shot - and heal. Makes it a bit easy and - even more egrigiously - formulaic. Also means that I dont need to care about health. Just freeze from highest dmg -> lowest dmg. Only thing that could get the neurons firing is rerolls. Unfortunately, the real reroll is bashing frozen enemies to get a good heal number. Ooh and maybe after fixing these issues it might be a good idea that when hovering over healing, the damage you're about to take is instead replaced with the amount you're gonna heal minus the damage to take. Should be visually distinct though, maybe put parentheses when showing the total value. Maybe even - if you're feelin' like it - showing green if heal > dmg, red(reason for visual distinction) if dmg > heal and gray if equal.
Oh and the 'active upgrades' should be something like 'Ice x15 Fire x2 ...' instead of 'Ice Ice Ice Ice Ice Fire Ice Ice Ice ...'. I also feel like special upgrades such as healer and wheel should be seperate(Speaking of wheel, introducing it as one time - which sounds as consumable as the defence upgrade - makes it sound undesirable when it's undoubtedly the best upgrade. Made me skip it a few times). Little icons for the upgrades would be cool. Simply adding it to the top instead of in a button might also give a bit of life to the screen. Oh and definitely a timer to the defence upgrade, should also be seperate to both special and elemental upgrades.
Also the fact that elemental upgrades are pointless after 10 of them is kind of annoying. Maybe replace one of the other elements with the one picked. Otherwise, it's defense/health > literally anything else = useless. Oh and since health gets better but defense is static(excluding enemy n° because it because it quickly just becomes 4 and no more), health eventually greatly surpasses defence.
Ah, and eventually the pictures of the enemies become total black (I assume assets are not loading). Also leaderboard is not loading.
Oh and the settings should have a reset button. I like your green - and it fit with the background of the page. It is unfortunately now lost forever (or you know, I could reset all my progress but that seems drastic). Also the buttons on the settings package (color picker & color wheel picker) should not have the same background as the color picked. Makes it hard to see for some of the colors. Oh and the font makes it so, visually, 7 = 1.
Finally, what does poison do? Apparently only one stack is applicable and it adds +5(in green) next to damage to take. First of all, why is poison associated with green and pluses. Makes it seem like a heal. But really, I'm just curious why it doesn't do anything to my health when I'm not taking damage. I'm pretty sure 0 + 5 = 5 not 0. I did the math and when taking other damage, it does take effect. I just don't know why it would only do it when taking other damage types. Also, just as infinte as freeze. Actually wouldn't mind stacks and sticking through different battles. When I have 5000+ hp and the enemy's minimum dmg is +30, 5 poison dmg seems kinda pointless.
In total, good game, needs a bit of polishing, but that's fine. Mostly played the game 'cause I like ranting/critiqueing. Also was hoping for NSFW 'cause of the adult tag but I can go for some good 'ol gamblin'. I did play until latest update(ya know, poison enemies), lvl 53 specifically.
thanks for this feedback after reading this i will come to this project again very soon and fix some of the following problems, i have forgotten about what the poison does myself LOL. and i will probably do a whole balance update. With the card texture not coming up that's because I didn't make any i got bored of the project so I just left the texture missing but I may comeback and work on it as well.
I suggest breaking the habit of replacing "you" with "u". It comes across as very unprofessional and immediately gave me the sense that this isn't a very serious project.
This was reinforced when after the first battle I was offered "Explosion" for all 3 choices and after my second battle I was offered "Ice" for all 3. That was enough for me to decide to close the game.
There's certainly some promise here, so please continue to learn and improve. 👍👍
I appreciate your feedback! I have received similar comments before regarding this project. Since it’s an older project, I haven’t had the chance to address these issues yet. The reason you may have received these cards is that there aren’t many options available. If I revisit this project in the future, I will make sure to fix these problems. Thank you!
OK this one is really good. The only issues again is the difficulty curve. If you don't get healer, you kind of will lose too quick always. And i dont know if it is just me, but the heal button seems useless. Idk how much i am healing, but except for the early rounds, it doesnt make my health increase at all. Other than that, when you are writing all your tutorial info, controls, and ANYTHING in the game, make sure to have proper spelling and grammar. Not that I am doing it much here, but i'm tired gimme a break lol. It is unprofessional and a turn off to see the tutorial have a bunch of mistakes and always saying "U can do this and U can do that if U want to" other than that, fun game. If there were more to it, and it were polished, you could easily sell this with the current roguelike casino game craze going on. ~Big Black Crocs
thanks for your feedback, the heal amount is the points you get from the slots, I didn't realise there were spelling mistakes I will have to fix that. this game is one of my biggest because I worked on it for over a month
Best I can put in words hmmm.... well think of it if a causal gamer playing your game what are you doing, what reroll why I only get 4 reroll, who am i attacking, health? how health work.
What I put is superficial but once a few more minute pass of me going through it I started to get the hang of it but if it come to a causal gamer that first minute may make or break the game.
seriously though, super cool game, would love to see more content!
also the color for explosive and fire look almost the same, i think it would be nice if they had a bigger difference, or an icon that showed what kind it is.

yeah, 35 level is the last tier and then it's all the same, I will prob be adding one more or even more than that and now with the new update the last tier starts at around 50 I remember my head. this tier brings a new effect poison
For the UI, I think placing things closer to each other would make it better, for example, leave only the settings button on the top right, and the rest put together in the other menu.
Also, make all the buttons the same size, no matter the text to give it a more standard look.
It's an interesting game, I could roll these slots all day lol. But it could use a better wording on the tutorial, I didn't know exactly what the fire effect did. Or if the "Wheel" effect did something if I picked it past the 4 slots.
I think some sort of AOE attack would be nice, because currently I found myself having to stall each battle on the last enemy to heal otherwise I would get slowly killed and lose on the next battle. Having more ways to survive would be useful, like having items or being able to choose the enemy you're going to face.
The ice and fire effects could be useful in helping me survive, but since they force you to roll one it really damaged my healing potential and how long I could last, and since they only affect one enemy there's limited use to it since each battle is a DPS race after all.
Maybe toning down the enemy damage and adding a cap to max health would help the pace of the game?

I have made the wheel upgrade be removed from the possible upgrades after being used so it doesn't waste an upgrade
I will try letting the player choose which unit to attack this could add some more choice and thinking instead of just spinning
I agree that the game needs some more ways to survive. I could add an upgrade that every enemy you kill you heal.
balancing I find is very hard for this sort of game because each run you pull different points and upgrades and get different enemies. i know this is a problem and I will be continuing to try and make the balance better. and it takes time to get to the different tiers of enemies. I feel the first tier is pretty well balanced but the second tier is a bit unbalanced. the 2 tier of enemies comes after LV 5 (I think)
the AOE idea I will have to think about. I will be changing these things and then reaccess if the AOE is still needed.

The Concept is good but at first it was somewhat confusing but slowly got the hang of it.
