Have politicians and oligarchs always been this fucking pathetic, or is this new? It’s hard to take evil people seriously when they act like this, and I’m 99% sure that’s why they do it. It’s performative, it gives them plausible deniability, “they’re not evil, they’re just stupid.” They’re underestimated and downplayed, just another distraction.

I'm gonna miss the ones on my old laptop, but it's fun to have a blank canvas again.
I've received seven letters this week, and they have honestly moved me to tears. I will be printing excerpts in Issue 1. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. This project has exceeded my wildest expectations!
Starting in February I will be printing the Some Times on the 13th of each month, but because January is the inaugural issue I want to allow more time for questions and submissions to come in. The majority of the articles will be written by Tuesday the 13th, but I will refrain from finalizing or printing anything until Sunday the 18th. This gives you all one full week from today to submit your questions, comments, drawings, photos, etc. if you wish for them to be included in Issue 1.
Realistically, this means you should mail them no later than Wednesday the 14th; I will check my PO Box the afternoon of Saturday the 17th, but the Post Office will be closed on Sunday and Monday for MLK Day, so I cannot check it again until Tuesday the 20th. Anything that arrives after January 17th will not be included until Issue 2 in February.
To clarify, only the submission window closes on the 17th. The subscription window will remain open through the end of the month. Everyone I receive letters from postmarked before February 1st will be sent Issue 1, but I can only include your submissions in Issue 1 if they arrive by January 17th (regardless of postmark).

Submissions for January are open until Saturday the 17th, and subscriptions are open all month. Going forward, submissions close on the 6th and subscriptions close on the 13th (any submissions received after the 6th will be included in the following month's issue, and subscriptions postmarked after the 13th will start receiving issues the following month).
I'm proud that this project has resonated with so many people. I really hope you all like the finished product. I'll post a preview of Issue 1 here when it prints, and if you want to read the full thing you just need to mail a letter to my PO Box.
Back issues will be available upon request, but depending on quantity I may ask for a small donation for postage. Otherwise, subscribing is free and you will continue to receive new issues indefinitely (you can cancel at any time by mailing in another letter asking to do so).

And with that, submissions for Issue 1 of the Some Times are closed. I will still be accepting subscriptions until the end of the month, but all further questions, suggestions, comments, and drawings will be featured in Issue 2 when it prints on Friday, February 13th. I’m putting the finishing touches on Issue 1 tonight, and I’ll start printing out copies tomorrow afternoon. The Post Office doesn’t reopen until after MLK Day, so I’ll have to wait until Tuesday the 20th to mail them out. I want to go up to the desk in person to verify that I have sufficient postage for each one. The last thing I need is to drop off dozens of letters in the box only for them all to bounce back because they weigh more than one ounce (I don’t have a scale).
If everything goes as planned, copies should start arriving in your mailboxes by this time next week. All subcribers will receive a handwritten note with their first issue responding to any of their questions or comments I didn’t end up printing.
