January 7, 2026 - ICE just murdered a legal observer in Minneapolis, during a protest at an immigration raid, while she was trying to leave, as ordered. [link]

Note: the victim of the murder was, as far as reporting and witness accounts have communicated, not acting in the capacity of a trained legal observer. she was observing ICE activity legally as a US citizen and community member. i don’t say this to be pedantic but to clarify that the term “legal observer” has a specific meaning and getting the facts of the situation wrong through internet telephone is a risk we should all try to mitigate.

I just wanted to wish you all a happy New Year!

I know this year has been tough on a lot of us if not all of us. There may have been many things that were beyond our control or power. Or how we might not have been able to do all the things we would have liked to. But with the end of 2025 coming to a close.

Here is hoping that 2026 is kinder and gentler on us! May this new year be brighter and more hopeful!

🎆 Happy New Year! 🎇

UNRWA says Israel is holding nearly 6,000 aid trucks loaded with food, relief supplies, and enough aid to support Gaza for 3 months plus hundreds of thousands of tents and blankets for 1.3M displaced people. Despite a “formal increase” in trucks entering, the flow is nowhere… pic.twitter.com/pPQZg7UutE — Doctors Against Genocide (@docstopgenocide) December 3, 2025ALT

This image isn’t just a news item; it’s part of our daily reality in Gaza. While thousands of trucks loaded with tents, blankets, food, and medicine are held outside the Strip, preventing their entry to the people of Gaza, we here are facing a humanitarian catastrophe that worsens every day. We suffer all the time and everyone ignores what we are going through.

I have been injured for over 530 days. Iron shrapnel remains embedded in my body from the bombing of our home while we were inside. I’m still injured and unable to receive proper treatment due to the blockade and the lack of medical supplies. The pain is constant, but what’s worse than the pain is the feeling that we’re forgotten and that everyone is ignoring what we’re going through.
