But I can't help but wonder if this optional 4k is part of what elongated development time and, if so, that's disappointing.
One, I'm not sure 4k is necessary.
Two, most monitors can't really show 4k.
Three, a lot of computers won't be able to run it, which runs contrary to the AVN market because AVNs aren't AAA titles; nobody kits for it.
I think I would've preferred a finished version of the game to come out faster rather than waiting for a 4k option, given that a 4k image requires so much more in rendering time. I would've even preferred a paid DLC after release.
To offer such a development-heavy option that only a portion of the community will even have access to is baffling to me and is somewhat disrespectful of the community's time and money.
And the "surprise" is a bit disturbing, too. The slow development has been controversial for some time; that it is only now announced that 4K was a part of the process seems a bit concerning, as if it was concealed to minimize protests that 4k is elongating the process.
