Optimization ruins this game. Makes no sense for a company to label their game as a "premium gaming experience", nobody wants to dump thousands of dollars into a rig so they can play BORDERLANDS. This is also noteably one of the only games that runs like an absolute dumpster fire on a 4060 that I know of. Fix your game instead of expecting people to have to compensate for you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥ excuse for a functioning game Gearbox.

I genuinely want to like Borderlands 4 but it is an active act of frustration. I was genuinely hoping for improvement but somehow I'm more disappointed than even the lowest of the lows of Borderlands 3. At least that game, despite it's many, many flaws, felt like a borderlands game. This feels nothing like Borderlands (and not even in a way that justifies it). This is one of the most boring okay games I have ever played in my life and I feel like every time I have played I feel as if I have done nothing. The highs are just "oh that's neat" and that's it and the lows are just so many little bits of annoying. I could go into how every element adds to this but simply just look at the visuals. Do you see those visuals and think "wow I need to play that"? No. It just screams "huh. Okay. Those look like a game" at best and worst it just looks kind of ugly. The lack of any impact this game has had, even among other Borderlands fans, says a lot to me as well. I seriously hope some lessons are learned from this but who knows at this point.

As continue of the Borderlands lineup is ok.

Thankfully, I didn't pay $70 for this game. Thankfully, I didn't buy the game. Holy ♥♥♥♥ even if the story wasn't redditor tier writing and it was interesting, even if I gave a ♥♥♥♥ about the characters, the new gameplay elements, any new weapons, you can't even play the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game

I just randomly have frame drops on a mid tier, decent system, because they've decided to be unreal engine unoptimized slop. Dont you dare try to fullscreen the game or it'll hold your system entirely hostage! When it optimizes shaders for the first time, it opens YOUR COMMAND WINDOW. For what borderlands 4? $70 singleplayer/online co-op game?

You'll just randomly fall through the map on your bike, you'll lose all of your progress (character skills refunded, items you purchased with limited currency just gone, weapons you purchased just disappear), oh and dont get me started on how theres no minimap to pull up to navigate with. They want you to use the new system where you press Z over and over again but thats not helpful when you want to look at your missions, and when THE NAVIGATION JUST GOES THROUGH THE WALL LIKE ITS HELPFUL. Not to mention every time you open your menu to do anything, it plays this stupid animation needlessly that takes a few seconds and wastes everyones time. The missions are vague and uninspired at best, the story sucks, and the game is barely functional.

they wanted you to pay $70 for this game, go buy repo for you and 6 other friends at that point, literally put your money anywhere else. oh yeah and an npc like straight up said the n word to my friend like im not kidding

I would not recommend paying more than $20 for this game. It is very mediocre. Up until Borderlands 3, I felt like I wanted to play each character. 3 killed that for me, 4 hasn’t inspired me any further.

Great game, but the crashes and compiling shader, made it feel annoying to play for long. I would not play again after beating the game. I would buy if you're a fan of the games and want to play it, but not at full price.

I was pretty disappointed with bl4. When leveling my first character i was just wanting the story to end already. Not a fan of the new enemies. Did not feel attached to anything about this game, bosses or characters. End game sucks super bad. loot changes suck, they swapped mass legendaries for mass everything else. Leveling is slow, I unlocked the last difficulty before I hit max level (still have not hit max level). I reached what felt like my full build by 30( at least everything i needed to fullfill my playstyle) and every level after that seemed to just increase my power by 2-8 percent. Specializations not being account bound felt bad since all the grinds in this game kinda suck and take too long. the difficulties for ultimate vault hunter felt like they did not increase xp or loot in any way, and slowed everything down. Not the worst game I have played , but would wait a long while to buy. They have a ton of kinks to work out, and I only listed a few of so many. There was nothing in this game that I felt was a good design decision or anything I thought they implemented well. I significantly prefer bl3 over bl4 in every way. Super not fun yet, but I have hope they will make it better by the end of 2026.

As someone who has played every Borderlands game, Borderlands 4 feels so empty. The sick and twisted humor is gone. I don't feel attached to the story at all like the previous games. It just feels... Empty. I can't recommend this game to anyone. I finished the campaign but only because I was playing with friends.
