Aloft has been soaring through Early Access, literally, giving players a first glimpse of its cozy, floating-island paradise packed with biomes, building, crafting, farming, combat, and multiplayer for up to eight sky-struck adventurers.  

Since launch, the team has released not one, not two, but three major content updates.

The Critters & Wonders update introduced adorable collectible wildlife, Wonder Islands, and Shared Homes, so your friends can stop freeloading and help build stuff. 

The Puzzles & Pyrologics update added a full puzzle-building system powered by the brand-new Emberstone resource, beefed up Wonder Islands, improved combat, dropped fresh building pieces, and even let the community design islands. (Yes, we handed players power. No, we’re not taking it back.) 

Bloom & Blight, the latest and most ambitious update, reshapes world generation, revamps progression and ecosystem restoration, adds speedy Wind Lanes for fast travel, introduces new corruption strains, and equips you with stronger tools and weapons to whack said corruption back into the void. 

All together, these updates supercharge exploration, creativity, and combat across Aloft’s ever-expanding skies. Basically, there’s never been a better time to join us above the clouds.

• Fixed an issue where several music tracks that could play while on the Leviathan could repeat, restart or not play as intended.

• Fixed an issue that would cause errors to appear infinitely on the console when running a dedicated server, which would negatively affect performance.

• Did some modifications to the bug reporting tool, which may cause the tool to be temporarily unavailable.

• A cutscene now plays when obtaining Insight from the basin of any Life Tree. 

• Holding SHIFT when moving an item in the Island Creator will now allow you to move it in local space.

• Plants of any biome can now be planted on any island. 

  • Please note: plants from a different biome to an island’s will not contribute to its health.

• Tools now look slightly different when a coating is applied or they are sharpened at the upgrade station. 

• Improved the appearance of inflammable web hindrances. 

• Modified the cutscene when restoring a Life Sapling.

• Modified sounds for Coward Enemies. 

• Removed some confusing elements in the Big Resonator Fresco Island. 

• Improved move gizmo accuracy on different axes for the Island Creator. 

• The Sawmill Fresco will be pinged for players on the Table-Map before the Windmill Fresco.

• The spinner can now make rope out of every type of corruption fiber. 

• Critters now attempt to spawn much faster. 

• Hidden critters are prioritized to spawn over non-hidden critters. 

• Sportox and Flogade Shriekers will use their grab attack much less often.

• Fixed an issue where several islands could spawn with corruption barriers that could not be destroyed.

• Added back missing Corruption Anomalies to several islands.

• Fixed an issue where Mykter Cowards’ attacks would not damage the player. 

• The correct animation now plays when watching another player use the meditation pad in Life Sapling islands and Life Tree islands. 

• Fixed an issue where unclaiming an island as a client in a multiplayer game and then leaving the game would make that island despawn. Unclaimed islands are now retained in the host’s world. 

• Fixed an issue where the objective “Explore the Cavern Below the Tree” while on a Life Tree Island would be checked off early if the player explores the Life Tree before it is healed. 

• Fixed issues with transparency on Water Buckets. 

• The custom square leaf sail is now also unlocked with the regular square leaf sail.

• Meditation Circle progression tracking:

  • The three flowers will now be withered or bloomed based on the restored state of Life Sapling islands within a sector

  • Up to three orbs will appear for each restored Life Tree within the same biome

  • You can interact with the flowers and orbs to view a tooltip explaining the above

• Colour palette texture change for mushrooms on corrupted islands (per biome)

• Increased the volume of the bee flying SFX

• Decreased volume of construction snapping SFX

• Added young/small tree destruction SFX

• Added Tech Tree SFX & music stinger

• Added Field Guide open/close equip/unequip SFX

• Changed attenuation curve of the Leecher so it is less audible at further distances

• Fixed a bug that caused Home Islands to duplicate while the player was positioned far away

  • Players now spawn on their Home Island when reloading a save file regardless of where they closed the game

• Fixed a bug where the tall and narrow wooden foundation did not visibly change when completed with a hammer

• Fixed many localisation errors and missing keys

• Fixed several quest-related bugs

  • Reset player progress on the “Seeping Spouts & Brewing Hopes” quest due to some issues with the quest’s flow

• Fixed a bug that unlocked the "Ordered One of Each” achievement when loading a character that had 15 decorations unlocked (but not built)

• Fixed a bug that caused Cowards to play their "rising out of the ground" animation each time they were damaged

• Fixed a bug that caused the Atlas SFX to stop playing only for the player that gathered it

• Fixed a bug with the spiky glider pattern not appearing

• Fixed a bug where the axe finale VFX appeared at the level of the player’s feet

• Fixed a bug that caused some of the hands/tools transparent VFX to look off in first-person view (mainly the torch’s fire and bucket’s water)

• Fixed a bug that caused a random bright light by removing an unwanted light source on a corruption asset

• Fixed NullReferenceException error coming from the Meditation Pad

• Fixed a bug where the player was no longer able to change items in their toolbar after trying to equip an invalid item

• Fixed several minor island and puzzle-related issues

  • These fixes only retroactively apply to undiscovered islands in existing worlds

• Players can now hold the torch forward to set inflammables on fire instead of interacting with the inflammables

• Players now unlock migration when launching a game world

  • Characters will relearn everything they had already learnt

  • This means that when new items are added or moved, players will unlock them if they “should” have them unlocked

• Removed the warning pop-up when trying to damage an asset on a corrupted island

• Added a warning pop-up when trying to plant a seed onto something other than a Seed Mound

  • The Lost Decoration Sketch is a consumable item. Consuming it unlocks a random decorative piece from a biome the player has already discovered.

  • 3 Sketch Fragments can be combined in the Workbench to craft a Lost Decoration Sketch.

• The flora need of islands has been greatly reduced. Players should now be able to remove a lot more plants and trees before the island becomes unhealthy.

• The seed mound has been lowered in the tech tree, now appearing as a mandatory tech after the home flag

• The loot of tutorial chests has been made less overwhelming; they no longer drop advanced resources

• The HP of resources has been greatly reduced to prevent gathering frustrations

• Serrated Bones can now be stored in the bone stockpile

• Tools charged attacks and combo finale damage multipliers have been standardised

• Resources and Ruins have had their HP re-balanced for a smoother tool progression

• All corruption features will drop samples when destroyed with a coated weapon

• Fixed an issue that could cause issues when cutting down small trees in multiplayer

• Fixed an issue where the “save the leviathan” achievement could not be acquired

  • It should now unlock at the end of the cutscene

  • If you have already saved the leviathan in your world, it can be unlocked upon landing on one of its islands

• Fixed an issue where tamed animals could stop functioning properly when transferred between worlds due to the lack of an internal clock

• Fixed an issue where constructions destroyed by beams were not playing the correct audio

• Fixed issue with Windstone Lamp textures not showing up properly

• Updated the Decorational Pots texture

• Control prompts for Life Wind mini-game now displays the correct text

• Habitats have been blacklisted to prevent unlocking them through creative mode

• Removed some Life Tree assets from the Island Creator

• The customization station's cost no longer requires blue and purple dyes (those were FH resources, but the station is unlocked in EI)
