This update fixes some game breaking bugs and also introduces a couple of QoL features.

• Save and load menus show more information about the save files now
  
• Custom game features that are enabled or disabled through the game customization menu are now persisted when saving and loading save files
  
• Fixed a bug that blocked the player's ability to place corals when undoing a turn that triggered a merge and the shockwave while the merge animation is playing
  
• Fixed upgrade and card rewards sometimes not being deterministic when loading old save files
  
• Fixed farm arrows not being rotated correctly in main menu
  
• Fixed farm preview not being removed when placing a farm and undoing
  
• Fixed upgrade range of some placeable upgrades being too large or completely missing after undoing placement step
  
• Fixed biomes sometimes not resetting correctly when redoing a step influencing the biome
  
• Fixed fish outline not being recalculated when placing fish upgrade on home and redoing
  
• Fixed a bug where the background music would not play anymore after loading a save file with a lot of tiles
  
• Increased main menu performance when the last saved game has a lot of tiles

With this update you should see an increase in performance while playing the game, especially when playing longer sessions with large maps and many cards on your card stack. Upgrade probabilities have been balanced to prevent certain upgrades from being excessively rare. Exploitable actions, such as undoing and redoing turns to reroll rewards (e.g. upgrades), have been fixed.

• Added possibility to undo and redo your last turn by using the back and forward button on the mouse

• Only show fish outline after tile has been hovered for a short moment
  
• Bottom Feeder, King Grab and Neptuna achievements are now unlocked immediately when fulfilling the conditions instead of at the end of the game
  
• Cursor confinement to the game window is no longer bound to the screen edge movement setting
  
• When returning to main menu the game is automatically saved only when some placements have been made

• Added wobble animation to corals
  
• Reduced tooltip transparency slightly to make it more readable

• Improved card stack performance when using undo/redo
  
• Improved code and rendering performance
  
• Undo and redo now only handle changes on the map instead of respawning everything - this changes the animations and should help with performance

• Fixed upgrade probabilities causing some upgrades to hardly drop at all
  
• Fixed upgrade options, tile attributes, card rewards, quest levels and quest spawn positions being infinitely rerollable by using undo and manually redoing the turn
  
• Fixed game targeting monitor refresh rate as FPS amount after setting FPS to unlimited and restarting
  
• Fixed placement being blocked after immediately undoing a turn that caused a level-up
  
• Fixed a bug where loading a game that was saved during a kelp removal upgrade being active would result in a wrong radius for the upgrade
  
• It is no longer possible to use undo or redo when the game is over

During the first week some people noticed that their graphics card could make some loud noises while playing our game. So in order for you to have more control over that, we introduced an FPS slider* so you can adjust how much you want your GPU to go "VROOM!" when rendering those corals.

We also enabled VSync by default (can still be toggled off in the options menu) which should also help with high GPU usage.

*VSync must be disabled for the FPS slider to take effect.

As part of our master’s degree at the university of applied sciences in Salzburg, we came together as a team to realize our vision of creating a fun and unique game. We started working on this project in December 2021 by creating a few initial prototypes until we found the core concept that would eventually become Coral Cove. In only a few months of time, we developed the first version of Coral Cove using a paper prototype as reference. During the following year of development, we added many new features and spent countless hours brainstorming, coding, and playtesting.
We attended several games festivals including the LevelUp in Salzburg and the GGBavaria in Munich. Finally on April 24th, 2023, this journey is reaching its destiny: The release of Coral Cove on Steam. We are happy to have met so many wonderful people along the way who made the creation of Coral Cove possible.
