DIGGERGUN

Features:

Added Linux/SteamOS/Mac version to the main install path (please note, this build has also been added to the Linux/SteamOS/Mac beta build discussed here). I will be monitoring the situation to see if there are any issues.

Bug Fixes:

- Fixed a bug that enabled players to jump out of bounds of one of the tutorial levels.
- Fixed a bug that occasionally teleported players into the mines when doing a mission for Lily, Rufus or one of the main questlines.
- Fixed a few additional small bugs.

Hello there, everyone! My name’s Kabloop and I’m the solo developer of DIGGERGUN! Has everyone been enjoying the game? Please remember to leave a review, as they really help out!

DIGGERGUN has been out for a few days now, and the response I’ve had has been incredibly heartwarming. So much so that I wanted to share some of the great things people have been saying.

But first! How did DIGGERGUN’s launch go? Overall, pretty well! There were a few bugs which I’ve been dealing with as they pop up, but I’m very happy with how the game has been holding up so far.

“If all this sounds too relatable, know that the game has some uncomplicated upsides. The setting is pleasantly mysterious and there's some wonderful audio design. Signboard text unfurls with a warble of Morse code, and your character makes a digital plinky-plonk noise when they walk that I found immediately endearing. If you do enjoy the game, then leaving a review is the best way to support DIGGERGUN. The game needs around ten reviews or so from paying customers to propagate into Steam’s algorithm. So if you do enjoy the game, then please make it known! And of course, be sure to tell your friends!

In the meantime, I’m working on cleaning up some extra bugs and the SteamOS version with an aim to get the game into the default DIGGERGUN install path soon.

Hello everyone, Kabloop here! 

Today I’m excited to announce that DIGGERGUN is OUT NOW! I’m trying to be professional in this blog post, so all I’ll say is: Yay!!!

I’ve been working on DIGGERGUN by myself for three years now. Suffice to say, I’ve poured a lot of time, energy and love into the game. There’s a lot of me in DIGGERGUN, and it’s my deepest hope that the themes of the game resonate with at least someone out there in the big wide world.

As mega-corporations and politicians alike continue to squeeze working people, DIGGERGUN’s themes about inequality are more relevant today than when I started working on the game three years ago. Even just a few days ago in the United Kingdom, far-right politicians were considering a reduction of the minimum wage, as well as removing important human rights from workers.

It’s my hope that DIGGERGUN can contribute to a wider discussion about workers, pay and the cost-of-living.

Finally….

DIGGERGUN is a weird game.
A frustrating game.
An oppressive, dark and, at times, intense game. 

But in it, there is hope for justice. It’s just whether or not you choose to seek it out.

Big news today!! I’m excited to announce that DIGGERGUN will be launching on Thursday, 6th November 2025. At the time of this blog post, that’s next week!!

Wow, I never thought I would reach this milestone. I’ve been working on DIGGERGUN for a long time, and the game’s release always felt like a very far-off thing… to actually be here, releasing the game to everyone, is exceptionally exciting indeed!

DIGGERGUN is a life-sim, platformer based on real-life. The way the game has morphed over the years I’ve been working on it has been extraordinary. 

This is a game with a lot of different systems, all working together in tandem to create an experience which aspires to make the player feel constrained and uncomfortable, yet free to tackle and adapt to those feelings however they please. The player can completely miss entire storylines or barely interact with some of the systems in place, and that’s more than fine. I don’t try to direct the player, for better and for worse, letting the game evolve before you as you play.

When I originally started developing DIGGERGUN, I didn’t intend to go as deep with the game as I have done. But the fact that even on my playthroughs, I’m still getting surprised by the game, means that I must have done something right!

So here I am, with a game which I hope is as meaningful to others as it is to me. DIGGERGUN is pretty oppressive, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend anyone to blast through the game in a few days, but there’s also a lot of love there and I hope I’ve shone a light on just how unfit and unjust the world of employment is.

Hope everyone is enjoying the Steam Next Fest. Feedback to the DIGGERGUN Demo has been absolutely amazing, and the kind words I've received have been truly uplifting and made my day/week/year! You're all so awesome, thank you!

I know that some players have struggled a bit with the default keyboard controls, and for that I apologise. It was never my intention to make getting into the game so difficult. So I've applied a patch today that will change the default controls.
- Default Controls: The arrow keys are now used for movement with X , C, V keys being used for the other actions (based on a QWERTY keyboard). These should translate well to other keyboard types.

My hope is that the new default controls will allow players with a variety of different keyboard styles to get into the game quicker without having to adjust their controls. If more changes are needed, then I won't hesitate to apply them.

Please note: Players who have already started the game and wish to use the new default controls will need to reset the controls in the settings menu once in-game.

Players who enjoy the current, default control scheme, or have a custom control scheme need not worry as the new default controls will not wipe out their custom controls unless they reset to the default controls in the main menu.

Players who have yet to play DIGGERGUN don't need to do anything other than make sure they've downloaded the most recent version of the game.
