choppy frame rates
Just bought the first and second parts in a bundle. First part is quite good and enjoyable. Second part is a bit less enjoyable due to choppy frame rates. It seems the game is being run by default with a fps of about 30. This wont really go well with modern monitors that all support 60 and higher. If anyone has a fix for this would appreciate it if it was shared.

It seems to be skipping half of the frames. Unplayable.

I had a similar problem, although my frame rates seemed to be way lower even than 30 fps, probably more like 5 to 10, which was pretty intolerable.

I just updated my video drivers (GeForce GTX 650 Ti) and rebooted the machine, and now it's fixed, the frame rate is probably around 60.

I'm not sure what did it, but you might try rebooting.

I rebooted (well, honestly, the power went off) and now it works fine.

Maybe it`s a little bit too late, but it can help to other people. If you have a performance problems (especially in old games like this) you should try to turn off the hyper threading in your bios settings. It helped me.

 Turning off Hyper Threading solved it!

I had some success in editing the "config.ini" file in the game's root directory.
If you change "bFullScreen=1" to "bFullScreen=0" it helped with the frame rate.

OK after 3 hours I found the solution (exactly what you guys said but you have to do both, in this order)

1. for the bad fps rate : download the latest drivers of your graphic card, then restart your computer

2. be sure that everything is checked this way : when the game is running > Ctrl+Maj+Escape > open task manager > Details > RTMI2 > right click > properties > compatiblity > ensure that "run this program in compatibily mode for" is checked for Windows 7 ; "run with 640x480 screen resolution" is checked ; "run as administrator" is checked

3. then for the bad resolution : as @dtshaw1 said, in Steam > Librairy > this game > cog logo > browse local files > search for "config.ini" in the searchbox > open this file > replace "bFullScreen="1" by "bFullScreen=0"

And shame on Steam to sale it like this...

Enjoy your well deserved game!!!
