Minor update v1.0.7

It has been more than a year since the last update to Astrodle! The truth is, despite a few typos and a very rare save corruption bug, I have been very happy with how the game ended up being.

Updating a game is always somewhat risky and I've never felt like these small/rare things were worth risking breaking everything.

Today, Unity forced my hand (for the better) by announcing the existence of a security vulnerability[flatt.tech] in all games built with their game engine in the last 8-ish years.

So this small patch includes the fixed vulnerability and the following modifications:

The game now saves to a temporary file first, reducing the chances of corrupting your save if the OS is abruptly shut down at the exact moment the game is saving (by losing power, for instance).
The English tooltip for Scorpio Essence no longer refers to Split Bullet as Echo Bullets.
The lower right screen correctly displays B65 under the icon of the Ball B65, and not O12.
Fixed a grammar error in the Ball B65's tooltip.

After a week of work travel, I am back with a minor update for Astrodle. This update is in line with previous updates, with small changes aimed at addressing issues reported in the discussions forum, here on Steam.

This update includes the following modifications:

Travel: I wasn't able to reproduce the bug where sometimes upgrades won't unlock after the first travel unless one saves and restarts the game. I have added more fail-safes in the code to hopefully reduce the chances of this happening.
Empty space (mission): the game is now better at tracking the number of blobs remaining when they are all destroyed at the same frame by the Detonator. This mission is still hard to do with this drone because of Duplicity and the fact that respawning blobs are invulnerable. A note has been added in the mission's description to highlight this constraint.
Annihilation (mission): in Quest mode, the mission now displays the current capacity to hint at the fact that you don't have to complete this mission with 200 blobs (which is hard for the same reasons as Empty space).
Orbiter: the tooltip now correctly show the Orbiter and not the Chaser.
Settings: when accessed from the main menu, the tooltips now have an icon instead of a white square.

Minor update v1.0.4

The last few days have been awesome for Astrodle but there are still a few things that needed immediate attention before the weekend.

A big thank you for all the players who have taken the time to report these issues in the discussion forum.

This patch includes the following modifications:

Bullets: now limited to 300 bullets at any time to avoid feedback loops frying your computers. Additional bullets will simply not be generated. This should not affect the game in most situations.
Becoming a god: the game will now hint at what to do at the end of the story. This should prevent players from thinking the game has frozen and should be shut down.
Typos: several texts containing typos have been corrected.
Drones: the cockpit monitors now display the correct drone designations in the background (ex: G07 instead of A07 for the Gunner).
Settings: the "Mute" button is now called "Toggle all sound" to better reflect it's function.
How did we get here?: this mission will now display a warning in its description when its undoable because the current start doesn't have relevant stellar bonus.

This patch fixes several issues:

Gunner: bullets are not automatically destroyed when loading the second game mode, after having traveled to another star in the first game mode in the same session.
Hello?: the mission is no longer undoable after On the way has been completed.
Aquarius blobs: the essence obtained when destroying Aquarius blobs is now correctly overridden by the Chaser's Blade and Critical bullets.
Dialogue: when the game loads a save. It will considered dialogues that have been started but not "skipped" nor "finished" as "skipped". This will prevent issues that may arise when closing the game during a dialogue. Old messages can always be replayed from the phone interface.

This patch fixes two issues with missions:

On the way: fixed an issue where the internal memory of the Target wasn't properly reset when withdrawn, only after it had travelled more than one orbit.
Annihilation: changed the wording of the mission to better explain the task at hand.
- From: Detonate the Detonator and destroy all the Blobs in orbit at once.
- To: Detonate the Detonator and destroy as many Blobs as the current Orbital Capacity.
