thanks, i'm glad you caught that, I was really trying to capture the bachelor's douchebag energy with the latin quote. it's like half the time he can't even stop himself from using a word the other person definitely doesn't know. even in english. or russian.

he is diagnosing himself incorrectly? he doesnt have acute misphonia, aka sensitivity to certain sounds suddenly out of nowhere, but rather it was brought on by the steppe. Something he doesnt (yet) understand. he isnt the haruspex, he is a man of (often fallible) science.

idk how it's voiced in English but it's definitely said jokingly in Russian. Like "Mesophonic now, Dankovsky?" A bit like asking yourself, "Am I dyslexic?" Right after reading something terribly wrong.
